I was hoping that’s what I was doing with this fairing compound. Maybe I need a different material. I’ll look into it.

I’ll be out in the garage shortly to do a lot of sanding. The change to cold, wet weather has dampened my enthusiasm and drive to get out in the garage. Plus, sanding just sucks. Haha

I've done a mod or two
I know this post is old but go find a student license on an education software site. Hell I can still usually find a free copy from other educational institutes that put their classroom key as public info. SolidWorks has lots of super advanced and complicated features but you can be as basic as you like as well, been using it for over 7 years now, it is great.

What exterior protection are you using? Regular automotive paint?

Marine paint. Same thing you’d paint a boat Hull with. I got some good recommendations that I can’t remember. I’ve got it written down. You roll it on and tip it out. Not that I have any experience with that...I’ve just watched videos on it.

How's the progress going? It's cold down here now so I imagine you're just about freezing up there now!

    Mostly stuff I built.

    Seriously try https://www.onshape.com/

Full functional cad cloud based software and it is free to use once you create a “free” account. Best part of it is there is no software to download. There is even an app for iPhone and iPad.

You can buy an annual license to it for around $1500 if you do choose. I have a license for it and it is what I use for all my metal work modeling. Works almost identical to solid works. The same software developers are the ones creating it.

It’s official! I approved the second rev of drawings and paid my 20% deposit on the boxes for the exterior of the camper. Feels good to have that in actual motion. I imagine it’ll be two-three weeks to get them done but we’ll see. I’m not in any real hurry for them but they were a big expense that I wanted to get out of the way so there’s time to recover before the other two big expenses: Windows and awning.

Interested to see how they come out! I’m about to put my bed on. Your build has been a enormous help!

Fixing the fuel filler location is really high on my list. When I have a few days where I don’t need to drive, I’ll tear it apart and cobble something better up. Other than that, the bed has been awesome! I wish I would have gone to it much earlier.

Put fairing compound on the last wall. I’m planning to get my sand on this weekend. The goal is to have the exterior sanding done. We’ll see. Also, it’s cold enough that I need to haul out the tarps and heater again.

I can’t wait to get this giant box on the truck and out of the garage!

    Looks good!
I may copy the Norweld style. Simple little bracket maybe. Have to get the thing on first. Pretty pumped.

Consider the new location of the filler when you’re positioning the bed fore-aft. You need a minimum clearance between anything attached to the bed and the cab. Placed mine just right and it now only gives me a very small area to potentially fit the filler. If you know you’re going to re-locate the filler, you will want to solidify that plan/location prior to drilling the fore-aft holes for the bed. I would only want to move the bed back just a tad...which means I can’t because there wouldn’t be enough meat between holes for the bed mount. I can leave it where it is or move it a lot (over 1” at least)
