It is a big deer and bummer you couldn't get him! It kills me when people get way far behind it and stretch their arms forward to make them look bigger. Same with fish, take a picture of a two pound bass and hold him forward he looks like a six.

Did NOT come prepared this morning. Thought my toes were gonna fall off. Got in my stand at 6:20, sat here til 1 pm and didn’t see a damn thing. It rained all night and the temps kept dropping. By the time I got up it was 32 degrees but felt like 20s with the wind chill. Knew for sure the deer would be moving with this weather...and I’m sure they are, just not here. Froze my ass off until I couldn’t stand it anymore. Got down at 1 and walked back to the truck and warmed up for about an hour. Back on stand now hoping something walks out before dark.

Anyone tried the Zippo hand warmers? You actually pour lighter fluid in it and light it. Supposed to stay up to 120 degrees for up to 12 hours. My dad bought me one a few days ago but I forgot my lighter this morning so I haven’t gotten to use it today.

That is most definitely a monster here. A good deer around here will gross 120" a great deer 140" and anything more is almost unheard of. Ill usually see 1 or 2 150" + deer a year on facebook and 1 of those is always the same guy who has culled better deer than i have shot

I feel your pain...literally! Ive had two misses this year on elk. They should have been kills...one was rushed during rifle season and the other I felt good and wasnt more than 50yds. Clean miss...no blood/hair/tissue...I felt good on the shot and thought I had a clean broadside shot...but apparently not. We searched today and scoured the area. :goingcrazy::frusty::pout:

If it makes yall feel better i missed mine the first shot this mornin. He was walkin dead away from me and i bleated at him and his head did a 180 but his body stayed str8 so i was trying to stay out of the gut and shot just right of him. The next shot got plent of guts and he stopped broad side at the edge if the field and i popped him again and he dropped

Not sure what happened. I was dead on last year. Killed 3, 2 dropped in their tracks. Didn’t shoot it prior to this season. Apparently I should have. I felt good on the one yesterday. Beautiful broadside shot. Went right under him

Took down a stand i made like 10 years ago and made some repairs on the ladder, fixing to go move it to abother tree (that first weld is the best of the original all done in 6011 and it was maybe the 3rd thing i ever made; the rest of the welds are really ugly haha) and then i used a mig on all the repairs that went much smoother and fast that them sticks did 10 years ago (after i realized i was using the cheat sheet for 120v instead of 240... The first weld was super cold but i figured out what i did wrong)
