Pretty good, just shitty hours. The job is good though. I like putting parts on Kenworth trucks.

I’m ready for a break myself. I get 10 days paid off for the holidays!

Still have 9 vacation days left this year. We will be allowed to carry over leftover due to asshat not allowing us to use vacation time. Assuming I don't take any more this year, that would give me 47 days NEXT year.

Planning on using 4 or 5 more before year ends. Would be snoozing away this morning had the Chef not stirred up the Health Dept. I'll be done with their "list" today. Chef didn't realize 90% of the stuff he complained about was HIS responsibility.

This place is a circus....with no ringmaster.

Thanks, about to go to bed. I got about two more weeks of work

 

OK....Industrial cleaning crew here on Monday to clean our kitchen. We employ 4 people who are SUPPOSED to be doing that in house. (On Chef's staff, not my housekeepers) So now we pay someone else to do what we have been paying people to do already.

Plumber on the way to install new hand sink in kitchen, plus drain shut offs on 3 compartment pot sink.

Electrician here in 1/2-hour to find and repair electrical issues in golf cart storage building. Previous electrode put in wiring that was "tight" in summer temps. Now that it's cooled down, wire contracts and pulls apart in junction boxes. Sparks fly, smoke escapes.

One MORE Christmas tree to erect (I just wanted to say erect!)

A ton of paperwork to catch up on.

This is my day.

No one screaming at me. This is a pleasant place to work again!

What type of work?

 

My official title is "Facilities Engineer". (@ a 112 year old Country Club) That title is what I earned by getting 2 engineering degrees... I just call myself the maintenance man. Less pressure with low level title...

I have 3 housekeepers, 2 locker room attendants, and (counting me) 2 "maintenance guys". Will be adding one more person soon (HVAC Tech/Refrigeration tech/Basic electrical skills)

I walk around with a cell phone and a list of contractors mostly. I used to do quite a bit of repair work and a lot of carpentry. Events of the last few years, I might as well take my tools to the pawn shop.
