TRD Pro Grille for $140?

We are all taking chances by ordering the grilles from China, I included. Not received mine yet, ordered on 11/22. I agree with you and you still have the expectation of getting what they stated.

 

This thread is long and nobody will ever see my comment. However, I love how people think that Toyota OE means some Japanese guy in a lab coat sat there engineering this hunk of plastic shit using top quality OEM Japanese plastic thus justifying the dealer cost of $500.

 

I don't understand why some people are complaining about the quality of some of the grilles, specially when compared to the amount of money paid. Quality control with this grilles wont be great because you are not paying for it. The reason why OEM parts are more expensive over copies is because they have high quality control. Yes, Chinese manufacturers can build the parts cheaper but most of them don't care for really great quality. Yes some grilles will be perfect but it wouldn't surprise me if more than half of the cheaper grilles are not.

Good example of this are cheap aftermarket body kits. Have you ever seen a cheap body kit that fits perfect in any vehicle right out of the box? Most of them (if not all) require some work to make them fit.

Mine arrived from Bruceshark-1 yesterday. Ordered it on 11/29 around 6am. 8 days is fast shipping from China. Priority Air Mail.

I haven't installed it yet, but I did check it out and it is EXCELLENT quality. Injection molded black plastic, no broken tabs. It is a 2 piece and the insert with 'Toyota' is also injection molded black plastic.

Really happy with the purchase, so far, and will be putting it on today during lunch. Photos to come.

 

because when you're selling an item as "OEM" - even though everyone knows it is a chinese knockoff - then it is reasonable to expect and demand OEM quality.

 

Anyone can write OEM after the description of the item they selling. Welcome to the internet world and more specificly on ebay.

They look like OEM, quality is an other thing with replica.

 

All I can say about all this is tyhat the one I purchased on ebay for $150 with Free Shipping is EXCELLENT. Looks like OEM and is ONE piece, so no need rto attach the TOYOTA letting. All tabs perfect condition and fit like NEW OEM!

They seem to have the lowest price on these grilles. Also are these grilles confirmed to work on 2018's with TSS?

 

That isn't close to the lowest.

Edit: The seller does offer tree shipping though. So I'll say it's close, but not lowest.

 

I live in Canada and the shipping my be less to the US. When Search on ebay and filter by price + shipping this comes out as the lowest for the 2 piece grille. Also I put in 2018 in the search so I'm not sure if the grille is any different for the 2016-17. That's why I was wondering if these grilles with work with the TSS in the 18's.

 

I don't even own a third gen so take what I say with a grain of salt, but if I did I would order this grille. Even if I had an 18, I doubt there are any changes. For the price, it's worth the risk. Worst case scenario sell it on the forum.

 

I'm not sure the 2 piece matters. People here who have ordered from the same seller have received both versions. There's a link at the bottom of this page for the $108 one. It does show a one piece grille though. Lots of people have installed the one piece with no issues, so to me the one or two piece is irrelevant.

I can't see how they wouldn't be tss compatible, but that's just my thought. Good luck either way.

 

Also to anyone who thinks broken tabs makes a difference it really doesn’t. Mine came perfect but I screwed a few tabs on install and takin the original apart. The grille is on there tighter than a virgin, it’s the 8 bolts that are really holding the grille together.

 

8 bolts? i only have 2 screws used plus the tabs holding it.

 

Looking for a 2016 TRD Pro Grill in Chrome or a black chrome like the color of the 2016 TRD sport grill. Does anybody know a place where I might find one.

You didn’t take the 18 screws out? 8 of them go back in haha

 

Not overnight parts from Japan quality but looks pretty good. Install was less than 10 minutes.

 

yeah- only 2 screws went back. in the middle. the rest just the tab snappin in.
