But seriously, I love Toyotas but I also love riding high. Why do you think I drive a Taco and not a Camry?

I would call it a bongo truck.

Edit: Just looked on Google at what a bongo truck actually is. We called all the little trucks bongo trucks, I guess I never actually looked into it lol

I like Volvos. My favorite model is the 240, which they stopped making in 1993.

My interest in Volvos was rekindled when I had the opportunity to drive a turbocharged model a couple years ago. There's this guy we all know as DJ Pete who DJs at my bar from time to time. He's one hell of a DJ, but by day, he's a mechanic.

He used to be a Volvo mechanic at a local dealership. However, he went off on his own and opened his own independent shop called The Fix. He owns numerous Volvos, and an old S10 he uses as a shop truck.

One time he came to a DJ gig at my bar in his 2007 V70 wagon, and after he was done unloading the car, he tossed me the keys and asked me to park it for him. This car had the 300hp turbocharged engine, and let me tell you even driving it around the corner to park it was fun!

A politician is like a diaper, and should be change frequently for the same reason.

Politicians are like bananas: they can be found in bunches, they're all yellow, and there's not a straight one among them.

Fully understand where you are coming from. There are plenty of people who have explored what the 5-lug can be, outside of the original. There are more than a few RC owners who've already trod down the path that you are going on - be sure to check their builds if they've got them up. There is plenty that can still be done with the 'budget' 5-lug, all dependent upon your budget of course.

We all have a different idea, on what our own "ultimate" truck will be.

    Good luck with it!

Go with the Fatbob's, Readylift SST, or Pro-comp level/lift spacer/leaf kit that gives you about 2.75" front and 1.5" rear in lift. Put in some good quality shocks and you should be good to go. It will be a firmer ride - it won't wallow in corners as i found mine to do with stock suspension. I used to refer to my pre-modified 5-lug as a Corolla that someone took a Sawzall to .. loading up an ATV in the back was embarrassing, in terms of suspension sack.

The weather has been teasing my area they last few days and it's really starting to piss me off!

Yesterday it was in the 60s, and the day before that it was in the 40s. Now it's cold again! Why can't the weather just stay cold (it is almost winter after all) or stay warm (preferably warm)?

    image.jpg

It least it looks consistent for the next 10 days or so...

Luckily, the heat in my Tacoma kicks ass!

Never saw a Tacoma when I was in China. I did see a couple of HiLuxes. Most of the stuff is domestic made crap although to be fair, they have copied some of the Toyota engines. For example, their "Jeep" vehicles* have a Chinese version of the 22R or RE engine. They run well enough for what they are and you'll see them set up for offroad sometimes. I doubt they'd pass any sort of crash rating though.

If you are going to try to give a lecture on China and special economic zones such as HK then you can't forget Macau, or maybe you did.

*The Chinese nationalized a Jeep plant back in like the 70s and they've continued to make a Jeep-like vehicle since. Buddy of mine had one when he was living there and he ran it pretty hard. It was fun to drive in the same way as an old CJ or FJ series is.

Suspension mods on a 5 lug are useless IMO. Our only option is a space lift and AAL. While an AAL isn't sketchy, a spacer lift can be.

If you don't feel like messing with your suspension, don't. If you do? Go for it. Do whatever suits you
