Give me another month or two and I'll let you know what I think of the ORI's. :D

As for packaging the ORI's win hands down. Not needing to add bump stops or limit straps saved a lot of headache as far as fitting everything under the truck.

there are a few drawbacks to them. they tend to lose lift in colder weather due to pressure changes. also if it leaks you are shit out of luck without anything to hold up the weight of vehicle like a spring would

This is true. As for pressure changes they seem pretty easy to fill and remove nitrogen. The blown seal part seems to be the biggest downfall to them

I have never said that. But this one of the reasons why many guys consider the older D60s to be the holy grail for builds (especially the late 70's kingping ones). Those have a lot of axle tube exposed on the driver side. But those are hard to find and usually crazy expensive.

Oh...i know how much they suck to handle. Axles was the first thing I got, and dealing with them in a small house garage was the primary reason why I decided to have a shop work on my truck. Interesting assumptions on your part though. ;)

Lot of mixed reviews about the ORIs. In theory they sound awesome but I have not met many people that have them.

Coilovers are bit of work to find out the right balance. Every rig is different so you cannot really go with the rates that work with a similar rig. You can always run old school poly or rubber bumps until you figure things out for air bumps.

King pins around my part are stupid expensive. A grand for one needing rebuilt I got my axle for 430 ish complete. I really like the simplicity of the ori shocks

They are crazy expensive in most parts of the country. I paid a grand for my late 80's kingpin and it was basically a pile of rust that needed a complete rebuild:eek: Not as much axle tube exposed like the late 70s one but certainly more than the SD axles. Still heavy as shit. With brakes mine was over 500 pounds!

What you save on one end with a cheap SD axle you pay on the other with sweat, burns, cuts, bruises, hernias, wear/tear in tools and a lot of cursing lol. However, from a "this is the last axle you will ever build" perspective", I still think the SD axles are the way to go. Don't get me wrong, the older style D60 are still super strong. But in factory form SD axles have bigger and stronger ball joints, unit bearings, knuckles, inner Cs, brakes, axle tubes, etc. The 2005+ ones also have 35spline shafts all around. That alone is worth the shot.

Wish I could’ve had the extra money to throw coilovers on the Jeep. After it’s rolling I’ll be saving for some coilovers. Guess I’ll be finding out how the fox air shocks are before too long

    That's a cool truck.

It's always cheaper to buy a rig already built for sure. But it is also riskier as one could potentially inherit somebody else's problems.

Need some help. What's the trick to getting the inner axle shaft back into the birfield? Can't get the new rcv shafts back into the birfs.

Put the round snap ring on the end axle shaft, line up the splines on the birfield and wack it on with a plastic dead blow or rubber mallet, or slam it down on a block of wood. It will take some force to compress the snap ring enough for the birfield to slide over.
