Get the 5.56 version. You can pickup on of these to easily convert it to .22 for when you want to plink.

M&P 15's have popped up a couple times recently for $350. They sell out fast!

Most AR 15's shoot both .223 and 5.56, correct?

Correct for the most part. Ones rated for 5.56 can shoot .223 but not the other way around (although realistically you could shoot either in a .223 rated barrel). 95% of new AR's come in 5.56 for that reason.

I did a couple shots in the back yard and it was a little high maybe an inch but nothing I should have missed at that close range. I dunno, maybe I pulled the trigger at the last critical second and sailed over it. also there was a little snow on the ground so any blood would have been easy to see. not a drop or speck of anything..

I'd build it yourself. It's easy and you'll figure out everything about
Could also build one if you're up to the task. It's pretty easy really.

I had only been "into" guns about 6-8 months before I built my own AR. There are tons of videos that'll get you through it and you really only need a few tools.

Well if you were pointed down hill, you would’ve had to been already shooting lower because of lack of bullet trap. As they say. Aim down shoot down,. Aim up shoot up! If you thought you pulled up, that would’ve added to your bullet flying higher than it normally would at that distance, and that could account for your miss. I’m sorry to hear that

well I checked it today and theres really no telling what or where the bullet was going...as it turns out the rear sight was almost ready to fall off!! I didnt bother to check it because its brand new!! wth!! both the windage and elevation were literally about to fall off! So I tightened it down and its back to where it should be shooting! Going out the for the last day tomorrow.

    Update #2:
New BCG is on it's way from Aero. They took care of it and I'm grateful for that. Hopefully it solves the issue.

On a separate note, i figured out my double fire problems. Ordered a new complete trigger from primary arms last week (trigger, hammer, disconnect). It arrived today and as I was disassembling the lower to install the new trigger, I noticed that the hammer spring was on backwards.. Feel like a complete idiot. It's a solution I've suggested to several people that solved the same problem. I didn't think to double check the spring orientation because I purchased the complete lower from a vendor that orders them direct from Aero. Just goes to show, you should always double check even factory builds. Oh well. At least now I have an extra trigger.

Guess I need to build a new lower.

First time ordering tools on Amazon? I was on there today and they have a promotion going on where if it’s your first time ordering tools they give you a percentage off up to $25 off.

Probably the first time buying a power tool from there. I’ve picked up some smaller hand tools from there but nothing over $25 or so.

I get my High Velocity Arms extended mag release in the mail. They shipped it really fast. I got it because I like the knurling on it, matches other parts on my AR9 (all about the details). Anyway, the holes for the screws that hold it onto the button where not machined correctly so the screws will not go down far enough to properly secure the release to the button, leaving it to shake around. They also sit probably 3mm over the release. I emailed them, and they sent me another one, no questions asks. I hope it fits. Looks sweet. I think I'm going to try to find shorter screws to see if I can get this one to work and have a spare for another build.

bought a 300 BO upper, new lower and flip up sights.................................

I am done I said. No more rifles for me cause I am a handgun guy, I have 10 currently....................

Then I did a bit of research in this thread...................

    So many pretty rifles

    Some custom
    some off the shelf

    and then it hit me
I want to build my own AR from start to finish......................................

I would love to say thank you TW, but once again I feel as though this is all part of a bigger conspiracy.................................

    to keep my wallet thin

projects stacked everywhere as my wife shakes her head and asks

"Aren't you trying to retire soon?"

I simply smile and say this is the last project, I swear, Baby.
