Remington is gone from NY, they've moved down south to GA. They left cause of the NY Safe Act

 

I second this statement...I've been itching especially every time it rains, I just sit there and think this could be snow

 

I just want a dump of 2.5-3 ft, and then ill be good for a month.

 

we dont have temp plates but you can drive on your old plate in this state and have 7 days to register it.

 

the last rain storm we just had I was thinking "you know if this was snow it would be like a foot and a half"

I couldn't guess by your license plate that you like snow

 

Pretty sure when "Freedom Group" bought Marlin, they pretty much raped and plundered the North Haven plant of it's machinery and let go the machinists who knew how to run them.
Pretty sure the new "Marlins" are made at the Remchester plant in Ky.
Old Marlins are fetching some good coin now.

 

Maybe I should sell my 336, then.

Did they actually leave? I knew they had been considering it but didn't know if they'd actually gone or not.

 

I know they have been slowly laying off workers (looked it up they are moving the plant to Alabama). They started at 1500-2000 a few years ago and now are under a 1000. They've had 2 lay offs just this year

I also was stock, but not helpless.

I also had Duratracs on the Tacoma (which the GF drove to work), so even that truck didn't have any trouble getting around.

Biggest problem with that storm was visibility; the temps never got about 20 degrees so it was all really drifty snow, and we had 40mph gusts. At some points on the drive in and on the drive home I could barely see past the plow.

I had an inexpensive American Tonneau on the truck back then and I was very impressed that it didn't cave in.
My BIL now has it on his '15.

Anyone here shop at BJs? Nearest one to me is 7 miles. Was looking at the prices, and they don't seem like that good of a deal to get a membership and drive there.

 

GE in Schenectady used to be HUGE. I grew up not too far from there and they were always a massive employer. It's scary how quickly they went downhill in that area.

CT has Mossberg also.

 

Not a bad offer, but I am driving north to almost where Noel lives on Saturday morning, then driving back and I'll probably have had enough of driving since I'll be hauling the trailer all day.
