I've heard of Willard not to sure where it is. I'm in Stephentown which on the border of Hancok MA. Yeah its crazy how lift tickets have gone up. I get it though not as much natural snow and operating costs have gone up but for the people who might go once or twice a year its worth it to drive farther

You should try Bamboo Express. Pretty good food and they deliver. It may not be as cheap as the feast you told me about getting.

Lift ticket prices are outrageous these days. Last time I skied was 25 years ago when I married a non skier. I remember complaining when Butternut raised their weekend lift ticket price over $20.00 o_O

I used to go to Sugar Bush the first week in January every year with the college ski club (It was my PE credit) and paid $200.00 for a ski in/out 4 person condo, lift tickets, and lesson.

Edit: BTW, I still have my Blizzard slalom racers (193 length I believe), Lange pink panther boots (complete with duct tape to keep the water out), Marker 747s, and Carrerra goggles in the basement...

I have a membership because when I bought the house they offered me one for $25. Not sure if I'll renew it or not when it expires in the spring. I get gas there most of the time, buy some things in bulk. But, I also live alone so some things I just can't buy in that kind of quantity.

The "7 miles" thing is comical to me too. Closest grocery store to me is probably right around 7 and I consider that a quick trip. BJ's is about 25, there's another one about 30 in a different direction. I do 50 miles a day just going to work and back.

I typically don't fit in with that stereotype. I've been known to drive a couple hours to get food at a particular place. I'll drive to Cambridge to Micro Center rather than wait for shipping from Amazon.

Willard is up in Greenwich but it's a hill. Our high school used to go there every week for ski club but it's tiny. Tickets used to only be $10 but I just checked and they're $40 now... There's nothing that place could do to make it worth a $40 ticket. You could make it top to bottom in under a minute if there wasn't anyone in your way.

I believe you also get 5 cents off per gallon if you fill up after you buy something in the store.

I kind of get the "7 miles" bit. My work is 26miles away, each way, so I don't mind driving. However, I live in the city and I would never consider driving 7 miles for groceries unless they were just giving them away.

I can run a full weekend worth of errand and only put a few miles on the odometer. Everything is close by.

Wait... yep, them are RI plates on your truck so welcome to the stereotype :D That's the best thing about stereotypes, as long as you fit a tiny part of it, you're in!

I'm basically 15 minutes from a couple grocery stores and small hardware stores and one large Walmart. I have to go to Pittsfield or Greenfield for a lot of things (Home Depot, BJs, etc.). Either one is about 45 minutes from me.

I grew up 20 minutes from a post office or gas station, but where I am now there's a gas station and general store just over the line in VT. Maybe 2 minutes away.

As much as I would like to say constitutional carry would be awesome - and I am a huge gun lover. I walk around the states or see videos of some of these idiots online and it makes me hope that they include not only fully background but mental checks as well. If you walk through a mall and look around at some of the people there - ask yourself do you feel safe if they were carrying a gun...?

I took a safety class where a guy literally looked down the barrel of a gun to check to see if it was loaded. Granted they were just practice rounds for loading... Still..

Looked at houses in Hancock. Because of Jiminy, that town has the lowest property tax rate in the state. $2.84/thousand. Where I am now is somewhere around $15.50.

yeah Hancock is crazy cheap for taxes, but all the home costs are much higher and there is very little turnover so when something goes up its usually sold quick

Yeah but he even said it. Not stereotyping if you put yourself in that place
Some other time then. You've lived near me for at least 6 months and I haven't hung out with you all but once!
