the devour in person is sick as hell but like just playing with it and owning it are two different things and I am a little skeptical on those reviews

my coworker has the eris. he loves it. i used it before and it works just fine. i personally would get the devour just cause i like the physical keyboard. but i believe the eris has a better camera. also, correct me if im wrong, but i think the eris is only using the andriod OS where as the devour has the andriod and motoblur.

Wait for the Incredible. Out on the 29th. Think Nexus One with a 8megapixel cam and Sense UI.

Every phone thread I've ever seen, someone makes a comment like this. "wait for this or that phone". It's electronics, something new and improved is always around the corner. Once the Incredible comes out, 3 months later he could wait for the next big thing.

Of the two in question, I say Eris:thumbsup:

Thats true, however when the phone is literally coming out in 13 days I think the person should give it some thought. Both the Eris and Devour are lacking many of the upgrades you would receive waiting for the new hardware. 8mp camera, 3.7" oled screen, 8gb on-board, HTC Sense on top of 2.1, Snapdragon processor (twice as fast as the Eris, not sure on the Devour specs).

I can't see buying something as dated as the Eris or Devour when something that is this top tier of a phone is a reality and on Verizon's site.

Now for me, I'm moving over to Sprint because a new company discount and will be picking up the EVO 4g phone in June.

Sprint 4G isn't gonna be on air until middle of next year. Might wanna wait on the phone.

Even with the EVO on 3g it will still be the best Android phone out there. When 4g makes it to SD it will be a nice addition.

What exactly do you mean by middle of next year, is that when SD will get 4g? Neither Sprint or Clear had a answer for me when I asked. If your speaking to 4g in general, there are more than 29 markets already released in. Either way thats still 1 full year before Verizon even plans to put a 4g handset out.

Yea, I was just referring to the turn-on period for the San Diego market and 4G. I work as an engineer on the Sprint network, right next to the Clearwire guys. So I see first hand the progress they are making on the build.

Once it does come on air, it will be badass though. My point in the previous post was that by the time the network comes on air down here, there's going to be a few more 4G handsets to choose from.
