How metallic is "Cement Grey Metallic"? I'm more a silver kinda guy, and cement seems a little matte depending on the picture - how much metallic sparkle does the Cement colour have? Is it really more in direct sunlight that the metallic comes out?

 

There is no metallic flake in the cement at all... it's not a metallic paint. it's more like primer grey if you polished it
One of the reasons I got it was that it was not a metallic paint... much easier to match and repair if you ever need to.

The cement OR at the state fair of Texas absolutely had metal flake in the paint.

Just looked at mine in the parking lot and i'm not seeing the metal flake in it. I could be wrong... the old laser eye-balls are not what they used to me and it's a cold cloudy day in Montana... I'm just not seeing it.

The one that was on exhibit at the state fair was. It was not a flat color. It absolutely had some metal or something in it. It might have been a prototype color. When I see the 18's on the lot I'll look closely at them.

I also saw a TRD Pro at a show earlier this year, and it was under a pretty bright halogen spot, definitely NOT a metallic colour. Toyota Canada refers to the 2018 paint as Cement Grey metallic. I stared at the Pro at the show for a good 10 minutes.I wanted to like it, but it seemed like whatever angle I looked at it, it was just matte rather than the gradations you get with a metallic paint...

 

Do any of you Cement '18 OR owners have plans to put after market bumpers on them? I'm wondering how it would look. Still on the fence with White or Cement.

 

It actually sparkles quite a bit in the sun. Out of the sun it looks pretty flat. Its definitely a pearl color. I wouldn't call it "metallic" though.

Clearly you've never actually seen a cement gray Tacoma in person.

I actually own a 2018 OR in Cement... Only had it a week, but I've seen it. I haven't seen it in the bright sun (we are in the grey of winter in Montana right now); so can't comment on the sparkle in the sun.
