I am maybe missing this but i have towed my tandom 16 ft trailer with about 1000 lbs plus trailer weight and the front end of the truck was not stable.

I was going to tow my cj7 soon but not comfortable.

You have to much tongue weight. Get a WDH an/or move your weight on the trailer and/or behind the truck rear axle to better distribute your weight. Not sure how much trailer weight is but definitely too much TW.

I’ve searched, I really have... can someone guide me to install photos or video of the ESP Truck Accessories P3 mounting plate? I’m trying to find it to share with someone outside TW...

Cant help you there but I mounted my P3 with a wide strip of velcro to the right of the steering column. Fits perfect there and doesn't hang down to grab a knee.

Probably a little over capacity here, but I’m going to try short distances anyways. Has surge brakes. Boat is 4300 pounds dry. I’m thinking after 65 gallons of fuel, boards, a massive stereo, and a tandem trailer I’m around 65-6700lbs.

Huh? I’m not sure why your Velcro placement is relevant.

I obviously don’t have pictures of me towing it with the Tacoma, bud. I just got it, and it’s winter.

How far are you towing? You're really gonna feel that boat and trailer considering you'll be at max towing capacity.

Probably less than 5 miles. Any other distances and I’ll go grab my dads super duty.

That's cool. Stay off the Dallas freeways and go slow on the service roads. No sense in getting in a hurry with that bad ass boat. And welcome to the Tacoma club.

This is what i usually tow:

Boat and trailer are in the 2500 - 3000 lb. range. Tacoma tows it nicely. I also have a utility trailer. Both have brakes. Used a blank panel to mount the Hopkins insight brake control.

Sorry, I meant to the right. With that said, post talked about the P3 bracket and I offered an alternative. So yea, its relevant.

A general rule of thumb is a minumum of 10 percent of gross trailer weight be on tounge, 1000lb would be 900 lb on axel, 100lbs on tounge. Also use the correct ball mount with proper drop to keep the trailer as level as possible.

Also I pull a side by side side utv all the time, I have about 1900 on the axel, and 450 on the tounge, trailer level, absolutely no issues towing up to 75mph.

No. I asked for photos of bracket install. Nothing more. I don’t care for cheap looking work, so I wouldn’t do Velcro...

Cheap looking? Now thats funny. Nothing cheap but the cost vs the bracket. No holes to drill in the dash and space saved for your knees. Ive seen some pretty crap brake controller install's but using Velcro is not one of them.

do you have the photos or no?

I have the bracket installed. I simply asked for a link to the install process so that I can forward them to someone else. How fucking hard is it to answer the question?
