The same shit everyone else has.
Im on my second set of Duratracs and once these ones wear out, I'll be ordering my 3rd set.

This topic has been beaten to death all over the internet. You'll find both sides claiming that THEIR tires are the best. Both do seem to perform very well so go with your gut and order what you think will fit YOU best.

They're NOT. I ran a set for 60,000+ and don't ever recall them ever being a problem on wet roads. Tremendous tire.

I went with a more aggressive tire for this round..... (Cooper STT PRO) Would not hesitate to use Duratraacs again.

lol, this is true. You'd have a couple bucks for sure!

    Thanks!!
I'll have a look at these as well, thank you.

I think I'm leaning towards the duratracs, i wish they did a 275 though! :(
Although they seem bigger visually, maybe the tread pattern as it appears more square vs the K02.
Gonna wait till they go on sale here and pull the trigger on a set i think.

I've never run duratracs, but as a K02 owner...

You will fling rocks larger than you can imagine, at speeds you cannot fathom, everywhere you go. Anyone behind you will hate you
You will get stuck in deep mud
Enjoy your great tread.... for about 10k miles. After that they become very slick/seem to perform sub par for the price you pay

On the flip side, you can run over basically anything you want. These tires are tough. Sand is great. Dirt is great. Snow is fine. Mud... the deeper it is, the more trouble you'll have. Recently I ran over a fairly large barrel cactus on accident (the actual whole cactus, not thorns) and I thought holy shit what did I do... no damage whatsoever. I've driven down shale/sharp rocky roads and the tires looked new after. They take a beating and keep on ticking. The ride isn't bad, I'm running 285's in load range E and it's acceptable. The ride is quiet. Fuel economy is up from the bfg K0's I had before these, so long as I keep them above 40psi. If I were you I'd buy whatever is cheaper, they're both reputable tires.

I had duratracs. Absolute trash. About the worst tire I've ever owned. When new they are fine, but once they have some mileage on them wet traction disappears all together. It was like driving on snow when the roads were damp. I got rid of mine before they were even worn out because I hated them so bad.

Had Duratracs on my Avalanche. They were phenomenal in the snow. As others said, I could go places in 2WD that the truck wouldn't go in 4WD on the Pro Comp A/Ts and Nitto Terra Grapplers that I had before the Goodyears. In the rain though...it could get sketchy. One time I hit a puddle in a downpour and the back end stepped out about 30 degrees, at highway speeds. That said, they were fine in wet weather up until I had about 25k miles on them, then they got worse very rapidly. Given, much heavier truck than the Tacos, but they were done by 30k miles and at that point were unreasonably loud and borderline unsafe in anything that wasn't dry conditions. I don't know if I'd buy them again knowing what I know about the sidewalls and lack of longevity, but I'm also usually inclined to try a different tire for the sake of trying something new and getting a new experience. But man did those Duratracs get the truck everywhere I pointed it...

I might try the KO2s next on my 4R. I've heard only good things so far, and was impressed by how others' trucks have done on the trails with them.

Well, in Finland we have ice and snow. And Duratracs have been best winter tires I have had in my 4x4 trucks. Second set is in use below my FJ.

What would you guys say is the average expected life out of the new gen K02s? I do a lot of highway driving... Have about 26k on my OEM (3rd gen) trd off road tires, still are doing well on tread life. I want the K02s but I dont want to roast through them in 25k haha

Just got Duratracs this week. Haven't even noticed any extra noise. They look great but won't offer any further opinions since I've only had them a few days.

Got a full 50K miles out of my DuraTracs. Switched to KO2s to try something new. After over 10K miles, KO2s are a bit quieter and slightly smoother on the road. The DuraTracs were definitely better when wet. Haven't had them off road, sorry to say. Lost 1-2 mpg with the KO2s. Both were/are 265/75/16 with E load.

I tried the KO2's for a year now. I think I'm done. Towing the boat I almost rear ended because I couldn't stop. I drive aggressive in the snow and the KO2 just doesn't grab as well as the Duratrac's. I'll deal with the road noise in the Duratrac, rather have better traction in snow and most importantly stopping.

I like the look of the KO2s better, but Duratracs seems to get consistent great reviews in snow and are pretty much the only A/T load C LT tire in 265/75/16 AFAIK. Will be getting a set at the end of summer.

I was torn between the KO2 and Duratrac myself after burning through a set of Toyo AT/2s in 25k miles. Went back and forth a bunch and finally purchased some 265/75/16 Duratracs from DiscountTireDirect for a really good price. I've only driven them for 500ish miles but so far I'm very happy. They don't seem too loud to me (I am kinda' deaf though) and they've been great in fresh untracked snow, hardpacked roads, and dry roads. Time will tell but so far I'm very happy, and they are a great looking tire IMO.
