The biggest change that I've noticed so far is that max torque is now achieved lower in the RPM range that validates another member's (@tooter ) testing and research with actual dyno results. His truck is a 2012 but 2tr-fe trucks 2015+ has dual vvti so results might be a little different.

Max torque is 3,800 rpms per Toyota's spec and now it feels the strongest at 2,800 rpms all the way to red line. Torque on the low end has also improved as the truck now takes off quicker from dead stop. Almost makes the auto bearable and as it now holds the rpms at around 3.5K on incline as before it would shift up though that could also be from disconnecting the battery. I'm sure if you're stick shift you'll love this mod even more. Totally worth the $400 for me.

The header is a no-brainer mod. Even if mine somehow rusted out, I would buy another one before going back to stock.

@moe2o4 has posted his dyno sheet for his '16, so the info has been updated. It's probably in every LCE Header thread, so I don't feel the need to link it. Also, Dual vvti was out in 2015, but for the '16+ model years ... pretty sure we settled that in this thread a few pages ago.

Anyone else notice that the 2018 SR's now have the same center dash display as the rest of the line? No more black and white display.

I just looked and you're right. I can live with the black and white. I don't care for the safety stuff on the 2018. One more thing I have to worry about turning off.

Pretty sure for the TSS to work you need a screen that can show more info than odo and trip meters.

I'm trying to decide on a stylistic direction and I figure here is the best place to ask since we all prefer minimalistic trucks (SR).

For the tailgate, what looks best? Black TACOMA + black badges? Black TACOMA + No badges? No TACOMA + black badges? Nothing at all?
If anyone has pics of those combinations (especially on a white truck), that would be awesome.

Went absolute minimalist. Even took the 4x4 emblem off.

5100's all around, OME 887 with 1/4" spacer, icon 3 leaf aal. 255/75/17 BFG KM's on 4runner pro's. Rigid led pods. Debadged and tinted.
The SEMA wheels fit the SR perfectly. Most aftermarket wheels stick out too far without flares. I love my 255/75s, but I need an a/t tire. I've gotta figure out what size... 255/75, 265/70 or 275/70.

I will agree to the truck having a nice ass. Cannot comment on the other.

I have a white SR and I have a similar vision. I plan to have a monochrome theme going on. Pro grille, black SCS F5's, blacked out badges, black tailgate inlays, black Wet Okole's, black side steps (not sure which yet, definitely want something beefy), and a black hammer and sickle decal next to the Tacoma badge. I don't want to put in the work of doing a BHLM, but wouldn't mind buying it off someone tbh. Already have tint done, but being the law-abiding citizen I am I only blacked out the back and have the darkest legal on my front.

One thing I miss from my 2012 SR Taco are the bed tie downs up against back of the cab. I used those for certain things. Granted those type of tie downs aren’t rated for really heavy stuff, but either is a 4 cyl Tacoma.
Anyway, I noticed that the bolt pattern was the same as the current square channel metal that’s there now. So I took a chance and order a 2nd gen front bed header from the dealer $45. I didn’t even have to remove the existing channel header, and the existing bolts were long.
