I know alot of us have pups. I currently have a 3 1/2 year old female boxer that's about 75 pounds. I love her, and have a great Dane background. So I guess I'm partial to big dogs.

What kind of dogs do y'all have? I found a neo mastiff puppy that I really took a liking too and have been somewhat looking for a friend for my boxer.... Just figured id ask about everyone else's fury family members.ive never had a fresh puppy before. All have been about 6 months when i got them. Anything i need to know about the 8 week to 6 month part?

I have a Boston Terrier. Grew up in a strictly boxer family, uncle used to breed them. I settled for a “mini boxer”, less food and less poop to clean up. Bostons are very energetic and friendly, great for families. I will get another one day...
but our next dog will be something different. I’m certainly okay with mutts but I am also intrigued by dogs like German short haired pointers, certain lab mixes, boxer mixes, and maybe Belgian mals. I miss my boxer a lot lately. But my Boston has been a hoot the last 7 years.

    Makes sense!

I LOVE MY BOXER. She is such an amazing dog. And loves people... However she will love anyone that pets her. I feel bad she doesnt have a friend around the house and I have been looking around a little here and there for the last year to get her a male friend. I'm wanting something that makes someone think twice and has a little more grunt to them though. Especially now that i will be working nights and weird schedules.. I fell to really liking this puppy today.

I have a German Wirehaired Pointer. We’ve been all across the board with labs, springer spaniels, Dobermans, boxers, and rescues.
My old man and I both bought ours from Silver Buckle Kennels.
My dog, Blitz, is honestly the most loving, friendly dog I’ve EVER met. Doesn’t have a single mean bone in his body.
They are definitely the most energetic I’ve ever come across (and that’s with a background of hunting dogs).
They get to be big, but a more of an athletic body than Rottweiler style.
First time with this bread, but can’t recommend them enough and will 100% be getting another.

For the 8 week-6 month difference: expect lots of training and headache. They are worse than children in the sense they don’t understand what the fuck you’re saying. If you provide stupid amounts of love and praise, while PATIENTLY laying out YOUR rules, you’ll have a good partner for the next ten years.
6 months only means you don’t have to worry about them pooping on the floor. 8 weeks allowsyou to build a deeper connection, by far.
