What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Funny you ask people have been DM'ing me asking to sandblast Tundra Calipers for them. Lol.

That's just with glass beads for light duty sandblasting. I'm picking up some aluminum oxide media for heavy rust removal when I do my differential.

Check Craigslist! The compressor, sandblaster, and drill press all came as a package deal from a guy I bought a $20 parts washer from. Told me he was moving and was selling some tools for cheap.

 

Good deal for sure. Right now the compressors on my Tacoma have a higher static flow than my shop compressor, but the shop compressor has a bigger tank lol. Might have to pick up a bigger compressor soon, I'd like a bigger blasting cabinet.

My service panel was actually full of 240v hookups with no empty spots. Luckily the people who built my house wired the kitchen for a double oven but we never had one so I just had it disconnected and wired the outlet to that.

Luckily the perfect spot where I wanted the compressor to go was right behind my 240v service panel.

 

That's really good luck, I saw an Ingersoll Rand compressor that was dual stage for sale locally that I might have to have. I have 240 connection points all around the house (sub panels for days with two pool pumps, a pool heat pump, hot tub, two ac units) just gotta see if the landlord is okay with me putting in a 240 in the garage figure with all the conduit for the pool stuff nearby another one wouldn't be too big a deal, I'd like to have one in there so I can move up to a more solid welder and compressor. Weird thing is my main panel and all my subpanels are on the exterior of the house :/

 

I was going to wire it up myself but I couldn't figure out how to kill the main service panel with my 240v service - didn't want to work on a live panel. Only my subpanel was on a Breaker. I asked the electrician and he told me to grab the electric meter and yank as hard as I can and it would kill all electrical service to the house.

Pretty dramatic way to cut power, lol.

re-doing the exhaust on my truck. just the last half, should i go with a single inlet and a dual outlet muffler? or a single inlet and a single outlet one? as of the tail end im thinking of elbowing it so its in front of the passenger side rear tire.

I think you worded it wrong when you first brought it up. /\ shocks like that are for flex and that's about it. | | this is the best for most DD/weekend warrior rigs. This is what I'll attempt to do, maybe with a slight angle, haven't looked into it as it'll be one of the last things I do

Perks of having the truck in the garage is it's not as cold.

Your prior post, and this one, are describing shocks that are angled in at the top. And while inboard of the frame, not all relocation have to be setup like that. There's lots of ways to relocate shocks based on what you are trying to achieve.

I still think it's a waste to put high end shocks on the stock mounts. You'll never get shocks that match the leaf travel. So 'getting all the travel you can' like you asked about earlier, Will always be a compromise.
