    Hey All,
I am bored and figured I would throw this out there.

It was a nice quiet Fri. night around 1:30am and the wife and I were just chilling. I was on TW (no shit) and my wife was off in the back doing whatever. We were both content with with the serenity of the peace and quiet...BOOM BOOM BOOM on the front door. Sounded like the damn FEDS. After I pulled my tongue out of my throat due to the sudden scare between my dog barking (90lbs Boxer) and the beating on the door, my 1st thought was everyone who knows me know that it is a carnal sin to beat my door like that after 10pm. So, I calmly grabbed my .45 and went to the door to see who it was. To my surprise there was no one threw the peep hole. I thought WTF I know someone just hit this door. Well nobody is there now so I opened the door and looked around and said Damn that's weird. As the door was almost shut this lunatic come from around the corner raising all kinda hell and charged at my front door. Honestly it caught me off guard and he got into the threshold before I knew it.
"DUDE WTF ARE YOU DOING"? I yelled
I planted my hand in the middle of his chest with much force and pushed him back out the door and down the little walkway that leads up to my apartment door. Now this guy was raising all kinds of hell the whole time this is going on. As he come to the end of my push he fell flat on his back. His next words were "You DID NOT just Fucking do THAT!" He got back up and came charging at the door AGAIN! Was this shit really happening again? As he charged and stepped his foot in my front door again, my .45 went up and he stopped dead in his tracks. I said "Dude, get the fuck out of my house please don't make me hurt you". His response" you can fuckin' bet I will *crying*. Well he turned and left in a crazed rant and I said to myself, "thank God that was not as bad as it could have been."
Then I hear a bunch of slamming and beating up front in the parking lot and I thought oh shit!... my vehicles, so I darted to the front of the building staying up the the 2nd floor breeze way to get a good view of the parking lot. Get this....Dude is standing in the parking lot beating the shit out of what I am assuming to have been his own truck. By this time one of my neighbors come out to see what all the commotion was about, I said seems we have an asshole that decided to get all strung out tonight and enter the wrong apartment. Then this girl comes out of the bottom apartment in a night gown and says to the hop-head, "baby are you coming to bed?" Without missing a beat and while still crying, "no I ain't coming to bed with people putting guns in my face and sicking dogs on me and shit". She asked him if it happened to him tonight and I said from above "it sure as hell did and in the morning you need to tell your boyfriend that it's not to smart to charge into other peoples homes uninvited. If he wasn't strung out right now we probably wouldn't be going through this." She says to me "Your not suppose to point guns at people!" I said, "Really?"
"Yeah my husbands a cop and I'll call him" she stated.
"Well do that ya dumb bitch, then you can let him meet your strung out boyfriend and I'll bet your boyfriend goes to jail before I do, and they might even take the long way to the jailhouse so your husband can show your boyfriend that you don't fuck another man's wife!"
She shut her trap and pulled him back in their apartment and everything went back to peaceful. I have yet to hear anything out of those people everything seems pretty calm around here now. I have since found out that the cops are monitoring that front apartment for trafficking drugs. On Friday evenings that apartment is like a damn drive through.
I so can't wait until I can buy a house and get the hell out of apartment living. I used to like it but over the last 5 years different shit has happened to make me hate it. Oh how I long for a nice piece of property in the country. I wish my job would make up their mind on where they are going to move. I really don't want to buy a house that is 50 miles from work. I HATE APARTMENTS!!!

Glad everything went the way it did. I'm with you. I can't stand my apartments. It always seems like the wife and I go out of our way to be courteous, an no one else gives a shit. My neighbors start slamming doors and yelling at all hours of the night. If this asshole had come through my door, then tried a second time, I don't think the outcome would have been the same. I can honestly say I think I would have shot him. It would have been a bad night. I'm glad you did what you did, your a good man for that. I hope all goes well from now on. Best of luck!

It's not just apartments. Twenty years ago I was living in a rented house in Arlington Tx with my girlfriend and a 70# Malemute (think: wolf with a pedigree). Three young guys, drunk out of their minds started beating on the door at 11pm. I have no tolerance for that, so I gave the GF a .357, and I grabbed a nickel plated .41mag.. Locked the Mal in the bedroom since I knew he'd charge whatever the issue was... set my GF at the corner of the hallway with instructions to fire if anything got by me, and I opened the door with the bigass revolver prominently raised. The boys' faces went through a lot of color changes from white to purple as they stammered that they must have the wrong house. I calmly agreed and suggested they move on.

This was a 1st for me and I am glad of the outcome. I really don't want to shoot or kill anyone but when I feel my family could be in immediate danger....a man will only take so much before a line gets crossed. I just hope no one ever crosses that line with me. Hope that doesn't make me sound like a badass because it's not intended to but I'll be damned if someone will intrude on my space or family if I have anything to do with it.

Syracuse can be a crazy town. I had two friends who lived in neighboring appt complexes one had a dude literally executed in front of his own appt which was later torched in an unrelated arson. The other had a teen, likely some gang pee-on come knock on his door and ask if he could score some weed. Fact that they smoke aside they were freaked and told him too piss off. Last thing they needed was some drug dealer coming to stake out his turf.

I live in a house on the other side of the ghetto and in a crazy way I thought it was safer last year when I had a dealer two houses away in 3 directions. Those guys kept their neighborhood safe. We had no issues whatsoever. This year two friends got robbed at gun point a block away and we had issues with a crack-head breaking into houses and selling the loot to the neighbors.

I haven't lived in an apt for about 20 years but when I did I loved it. The drama you see is freaking awesome..... And to top it off I lived in an apt in the bad part of Long Beach But to tell you the truth I met more nice people in the bad gang infested part of long beach then I have where I am now. The people around me now like to keep to themselves… There is no sense of community at all.

The Drama is Great....until you are in the middle of it. I have lived in these apartments for a little over 5 years now and didn't start seeing the "Drama" until they lowered the damn new lease rent about 2 years ago .

Thanks for sharing. This is the exact reason I now own guns. There are too many crazies out there, that have no regard for anyone else. With my wife, and daughter around, I don't want to take any chances. I have my 2 dogs, that may or may not do anything, but I want to be sure we all remain safe.

I am sure glad ya'll are ok, and everyone else that has a similar story is ok. I know that situations like this can turn real, bad quickly.
