Wow, that's surprising. Although... Ford uses a pretty stiff sway bar and I can't believe there isn't a disconnect for the Raptor. Take the sway bar out and I would bet the Raptor would kill it.

 

The guy who has a set of snow tires already mounted on wheels but waits until the day before (or the day of) a snow storm to get them put on even though winter happens every year. Used to drive me nuts when I ran a shop because we always had to justify all of our numbers to corporate and tying up bay space for a 'rotation' that could be used for a 'new sale' on a set of snows always used to get me flak from the district manager.

I don't really care now that I don't have to deal with it anymore since I'm on the wholesale side, but it used to set my teeth on edge when they'd roll up to the service counter in the middle of a snow rush and want to get in right away

Probably, but you'd have to build a safety into it like the Ram has or some idiot would kill himself trying to do whoop-de-doo's with it disconnected
Not that surprising, though. The PW was designed specifically to rock crawl with the best of them. The Raptor is a desert runner.

 

Gotcha. Wasn't my intention to wait until the last minute. Was going to do it on Monday, when I was going to take my last days off, but this storm kinda snuck up on me, and probably most of us down here since there was no mention of a possibility until yesterday... At least not that I heard.

 

It was the same thing up here. As recently as yesterday they were calling for a 'dusting to an inch' and then it shifted and the weather guys were all like 'oh, shit'

Like I said, it doesn't bother me now that I'm not working at a shop, so I meant it in good humor, not as a criticism.

I would have just said screw it and had fun with non-snow tires in the snow until Monday As long as they aren't summer performance tires you'd survive; made that mistake once....never again.

Meh. Have time off to burn so figured might as well. Plus, little people ride in the truck fairly regularly. Didn't want to take a chance.

 

Kind of. I was thinking like they rolled them because the suspension overdrooped when they aired it, so when the wheels made contact with the ground again they were crazy off-camber.

I plan to drop my tire pressure a bit after work. I think the rears are still at 38 from when i was towing this summer. At some point I need to do a rotation too.

 

Nope, they're the boss of the people who have to deal directly with the public. That slogan was also created when the general public wasn't nearly as painful to deal with as they are now. Now, everyone is out to sue for a quick buck or won't hesitate to write a scathing review if you rub them the wrong way.

My first experience driving this new truck of mine in the snow is also going to be my first experience pulling my trailer with it. Really would prefer it doesn't snow which is ironic since I'm going to pick up a snow machine.
