There will only be one key for the hinged version that will open all hatches.

Wow, these boys are dialed! I feel so much better spending my money when folks like you are thinking of every possible detail us crazy taco owners are concerned with. Imagine if everything we bought had this type of care, concern, and foresight put into the R&D... I'd be broke. Keep it up fellas, you make us proud to support this amazing American business.

Spent the evening getting the hinge design a little more detailed:

I currently have 2nd Gen Access Cab. Someday I may have a 3rd Gen Access Cab, or even a 3rd Gen DCSB/LB. Will I be able to swap out the lower frame section and keep my upper section down the road? Will there be any difference between the lowers of an Access cab 2nd Gen and Access Cab 3rd Gen? Or, will all lower frame sections be built "truck cab/bed model specific" like how top of the line Fiberglass topper shells are built? I have a feeling this camper will outlast my truck, want to plan ahead... Thanks

So we obviously want to have as few unique part numbers as possible. Where there's enough dimensional overlap between models we will try to make the lower frames the same as long as that can be done in a way that looks good and seals well. Our plan is to finalize the design for 3rd gens by the end of the month and then start modifying to fit the other models. So the 2nd to 3rd might transfer over. We'll see. But if not, we do plan to make the lower frames available on their own.

Lots of updates coming real soon. We are getting bum rushed with materials and should be getting the first production prototype assembly ready in the next two weeks.

At the very least it isn't boring :D. I am a little bit neck deep in a sweet unimog build right now too for some clients traveling around the world...

I guess I should say hello..

I’m Ross, #3 @ GFC and one of the dudes that you’ll interface with when you swing over to pick up your new GFC camper here in Bozeman. I’ll also probably be the shotgunner (the last vehicle) when we hit the trails here in Montana...
