No, Toyota is possibly doing the freebies and we are just getting what we deserve.

Let me guess, you already did it yourself and are mad?

Nope, I love free shit too. Mine doesn't vibrate and I have a lift so I won't be going in. Curious about this tho. And all I'm saying is if nothing's wrong with your truck or you caused the issue yourself by lifting it (improperly) then you derserve to get bruised with a diagnostic bill

I have no lift and unfortunately i have had the vibes from day one. If they are willing to fix it i do not see a problem.

Any word on if a lift will disqualify you on this, I have 5100s with OME coils and an AAL, truck has been squealing and vibrating at take off for a little while now.

if you get a bill for getting your vibrating drive shaft checked out when you have a letter from TM, then you are an idiot.

I ordered the parts for the vibration on mine, don't see anything not including modified vehicles.

Most dealers should be pretty willing to replace problem joints as they are not subject to parts being sent back to Toyota.

Driveshaft replacement requires picture documentation etc, dealer has to be at the point is willing to eat a shaft if Toyota denies it.

Toyota wont do anything for 90% of you,all they will say is there is no problem with your truck,or you lifted it and thats your problem.

I got my letter about a week ago however, I had gotten the work done at a Toyota dealership in Fredericton during June, because I was feeling vibrations.

Fast forward to yesterday and I called to schedule the reimbursement for that service. Not only are they going to replace the u joint that's already been taken care of, but they're going to give me the money back for when I had it done in the summer. Pretty happy camper.

i too would like to know if i am one of the 894,000+ vehicles effected and would gladly welcome some new u-joints.
I have documented vibes in my service history back to pre-frame replacement with no luck. The dealer even put my 5100's on at frame replacement, so giving me a hard time should be a mute point. Waiting for a letter patiently.

Once I get my letter I'll be going to the dealership. My situation is VERY well documented. I had gone in for service due to the vibration and told them I suspected I needed a new carrier bearing. They checked it out, verified the vibration was there, and then recommended I replace my torque converter and transmission. Yes, the entire transmission. I have it in writing.

So I politely said "thank you" and took the truck back knowing they were either lying or were actually that stupid. Long story short, I designed a two piece shaft with a double cardan joint made from my OEM shaft. It's the one I posted about in the "Vibes Be Gone" thread. It's perfection.

But that's where the problem is. Toyota recommended a $7,000 service that wouldn't have fixed my problem. At least I was smart enough to refuse. In the end, I had to fork over $500 to have a custom shaft made to solve an issue that is now a documented TSB. I don't need another solution. I want to be reimbursed.

I haven't received a letter yet but under my VIN the Warranty Enhancement is shown there as should yours. I can verify if you want.

Searching through my system i havent seen anything where it excludes modified trucks only thing i see is no salvage or parts titles.

I received my letter this week. I had the shaft replaced under warranty 4 yrs ago due to a vibration but it did not resolve this issue. I wonder what the actual vibration issue is and when does it happen. I don't want to waste my time if my vibration is different then what they are looking for or worse, have them try to charge me. I have the feeling they will say I've altered the angles or something and basically tell me to pound sand.

You can still get billed if they determine that the driveshaft is vibrating due to misalignment caused by a lift you had installed.

Here's a video of mine when it was still vibrating. I forgot how bad it was. Freaks me out watching it now.
