on my '10 Tacoma , it's finally time to do something about my headlight lenses . I have DRL melting (never did the recall ) they are getting cloudy and scratched from brush , and now developing cracks in the center on the lens .

I don't need anything flashy , just stock looking . I've contemplated BHLM, but would prefer not to risk any seal issues on a set that's been taken apart to black out .

So surely I can order up Toyota replacements , but what else is out there that would be the closest to factory replacement... with quality in mind ?

    Thanks in advance

Check out part 3) in this thread, it covers the smoked OEM headlight options and best price I’ve found on them:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-not-led-or-hid.398066/

If you go aftermarket and are concerned about quality, get CAPA certified headlights. Many aftermarket headlights are anything but quality.

The 2011 I bought recently had the lens melting/cracking too. Was it a symptom of the bulbs or something with the assembly?

You might be able to get new ones from the dealer via the recall. Worth a shot.

I would do a lot of research on the specific brands out there. Try to find something that gets good reviews and people have stated they've been in for months without condensation issues.

Yeah I'm asking for reviews here because I appreciate the fact tacomaworld members are probably more critical , and have more direct experience with this (as well as many other things )than do random Amazon reviewers and such .

The assemblies were flawed. Toyota was replacing them with redesigned ones that fixed the issue for free, but the time window has passed. Though it never hits to ask.

I got these for my 07 Taco from carparts.com and they have been great. Main thing is they are CAPA certified and they are 89.00 per side. They come with bulbs and are holding up well and so far look like new. Just my 2 cents.

Had TYC brand on my 2010 for over 2 years they still look new no leaks. I got ones from the x-runner (sport model) with the darker insides rather than doing the BHLM.
