That's what I'm going for, just not sure how hard it will be to operate with a hidden winch mount and assuming the motor and radiator is hot.

My 12000lb bad land winch is wireless. But there also is plenty of room to reach the clutch release handle when you open the hood.

What mount did you use? I think I'm going hidden.

Good news on the recovery points. My last winch was on my 73 CJ-5, and a Warn. I used to make a few bucks in the winter pulling idiots out of snowbanks in their 2wd cars. We'll see if that works in the Sandias of New Mexico this year, assuming we get much snow.

The TRD skid plate is not a problem with the SOS Concepts bumper. They designed it that way.

I cut one slat in the bottom of the TRD Pro grille to reach the clutch and plug in on the other side. You can't tell when looking at the truck, and don't have to open the hood.

I used the one from CBI. It is very well made but they do not provide instructions for installing it. They were however very responsive by email and willing to help over the phone. You will also need to fabricate some sort of mounting bracket for your detached winch control box.

Do you know if it will work with the TRD Skidplate?

Not sure. My guess is yes but if you go to their site and email them I am sure they will get you the correct answer.

How long did the install take? And where did you end up mounting the control box?

Thanks man:) I can’t wait to get a winch in mine, I just want to get some stronger coils up front to support all the added weight first

I’m not 100% sure on the TRD PRO skid but I know it worked with my factory TRD OFF Road skid, not sure if those are the same or different.

My real question is why not upgrade the front skid to something stronger than the factory? They’re super thin and are generally referred to as “tin foil skid plates” haha. They protect against pebbles and rocks flying up but don’t hit anything more than that lol.

I made a mistake picking a fight with a huge rock at Windrock Park after putting this new skid on lol. I slammed into this rock (on accident) and it only scratched it. No dents or dings at all. If i had that factory skid, I would have done some serious damage.

I added those vinyl letters to it so obviously it peeled those off when I hit haha.

Yeah, I don't plan on doing much rock crawling so it's not a major concern....
