Dabo is the best coach I’ve seen in along time. He took a program from average to champions. His players love playing for Clemson, it shows every time they play.

I hope Coach Moorhead has a little bit of Dabo’s magic!

Fans rooting for Georgia vs Bama championship game needs to slow down.

I'm a Bama fan, but I really expect it to be Clemson and Oklahoma in the final. I always say it depends on who shows up on game day, but those two teams are pretty stout right now. Playing their best ball at the right time... hard to beat that.

I agree @jsey21. The long layoff always effects teams timing, performance, momentum and such. We’ve seen great teams struggle after 4-5 weeks off.

I don't think fans ROOTING for it need to slow down.... But those who EXPECT it certainly do. I don't generally bet against Saban, but I've seen him lose to Clemson before, so I'm not counting on a win either.

People smarter than me have said UGA is certainly capable of beating OU. I haven't watched much of either team, but I've seen highlights of the crotch-grabber and they're pretty good. I doubt they've seen a defense like UGA's, though... so who knows.

basically, I have no idea what to expect. I'm hopeful that Bama can advance to the NC, but I think we'll likely be done after the Sugar.

    Good morning @mws4ua
:pccoffee: I’ve never betted against Nick, but there’s a chemistry with Clemson that is rare to me.

I was :boink: with the slow down comment. All four teams should be pumped to be in the playoffs :yay:, I would if Miss State was in! I think if Georgia & Alabama play in the championship we’ll see a push for an expanded version of this playoff.

I think we’ve got a shot. I think you’re right that they haven’t seen a defense like UGA, but we also haven’t seen an offense like theirs. If we can get our LB in the backfield and let Roquan wreak havoc, I think we’ve got a dang good shot of playing an extra game. Mayfield is good, but no QBs like to be hit or throw with people at their feet.

The stats add up to us being able to get in the backfield. It may come down to the Jimmy’s and the Joes instead of the Xs and Os - which team has the better athletes. Which line can get penetration.

This will be a good game with 50+ seniors leading the teams! How many seniors on Georgia’s team play & contribute? :notsure:

I think we have a shot for sure. We have to pressure Mayfield and play clock control with our ground game which we are very capable of doing. Just got to execute.

I think this could the best playoff since it has been instated.

As for wanting UGA/Bama I’m mixed. But I just want to get past OU and then worry about who we’d play.

I agree... if you see another 2 SEC teams (or any two teams from one conference) in the final game, I really think that will finally push them to expand to more teams. Bama vs LSU was the final straw in the BCS, so I see changes coming if something close to that happens again.

shouldn't make a difference if those are the 2 best teams then so be it.

I'll certainly be pulling for y'all in the game. I'm not a fan of Mayfield, and if we somehow get past Clemson, I don't want to watch him shred our defense. Not to say I think we'd easily beat UGA or anything, but a QB that can drop dimes like that tends to make our defense look pedestrian.

I tend to agree... I think a lot of fans want an 8-team playoff, but I don't think that two teams from the same conference in the game will do it. If it would have broken the system, I don't think they would have allowed two conference teams in the 4-team field, and wouldn't have put them on opposite sides of the bracket.

I don't think the all-SEC BCS game is what broke the system. I think it was the rematch.

I think think that if Alabama had made it to the SECC, then lost to UGA in a 2012-type down-to-the-last-play game and still made the playoffs, they would have put UGA and Alabama on the same side to avoid a rematch NC.

If it was expanded this year there would have prolly been 3 sec teams in and still could have wound up with 2 in the final and possibly 3 in the semifinal. Expanding it will never ensure anything except for a lack of excuses for who is the best (or at least was the best that day; ill clearify before opinions start flying)

We have a lot of seniors that contribute. I can’t give you a number, but, off the top of my head:

Chubb, Michel, Bellamy, Lorenzo carter, Reggie carter, wims, Godwin, Atkins, blazevich (get him the damn ball), Aaron Davis, malkom Parrish, Christian Payne, dom Sanders, Isaiah Wynn

There might be more. Then you’ve got the the juniors that’ll probably go pro.

But we’re somehow still young. We’ve played 30+ freshman/sophomores this year.

Edit: Godwin is a junior, not a senior. My bad.
