I've exhausted my vocabulary and searched to no avail...

I'm looking for a 90° angled winch controller/connector, space is tight up between my lights and control box and I can't connect my standard controller. I've got a hard wired switch in the cab, but for some tasks... Like respooling the winch myself... I want to be able to connect my standard one. Any products out there I'm too dumb to search for? It's a 5 pin btw

Didn't think about wireless, def an option... I bought a similar angled adapter for my cb coax cable I figured something existed for winch controllers

When I took my solenoid box apart to wire my cab switch, I only had three wires going to the connection point, figured they just use a 5 pin as a standard connection

Agreed, I have a 5 pin as well, haven’t looked in the solenoid box yet. Now I’m considering this...$$

I have a wireless fob and the cable pendant as a back up. Space was a little tight with the under hood mounted control box.
A razor knife, some self vulcanizing tape and a zip tie did the trick. Careful with the razor, a heat gun might have also done the trick.

You can see there ain't much room!

    The original connector

    IMG_20171208_144210036_resized.jpg

I cut the metal sleeve with a dremel and kept the rubber grommet.

    IMG_20171208_145844609_resized.jpg
Now I bent the wires, pulled the grommet up and started globbing liquid tape over it...

And here she is all dry, I'll prob add some electrical tape to reinforce, but I'll only be using this every once in while, I think she'll suit my needs perfectly!

I think my approach would have to just run a pigtail out of the winch .

Making your connection some place easier to access with more room

Doing things like this for work all the time it was my first thought

That was some nice work! My original plan was to relocate the box into the engine bay, but I was too lazy to build a new harness:rolleyes:. I was also playing around with locations and couldn't come up with a good spot... Since I've got plans for a GP31 in the original spot, a 34 on the pax side and my air compressor stuffed somewhere that's currently under the back seat.

I would just move the solenoid box over an inch and called it a day.

I already had to modify the mount and box to make it work in it's current location.... This was easier l, trust me
