Pyritepirate wants to meet after new year at either the distillery(which I don't believe you've been to yet) or old house I told him I'd get you and Beth to meet us if you could. @Cypherian suggested the 3 of us could meet over at Outlanders (The camp ground right along the river I was telling you about) and camp this Spring so we'll see. I'm just fed up with the crap around here you always know where to find me. I'm still planning on having us capable of off grid camping this coming year but with work up in the air right now who the hell knows

    You had me at distillery.

And I'm sure a weekend at outlanders would be swell.

We're actually working on our new solar setup right now while were visiting her folks in PA

We're not getting each other anything for Christmas and decided to either go head with the fridge or solar. My reasoning was to do the fridge first since it could be used either in a campground or away from one plus then I'd have on hand what my power demands will be to insure the proper size solar unit. Would this be logical thinking or would getting the solar first be a better option?

 I think we've settled on an IndelB 51 used in conjunction with a cooler should be all we need I hope. Of course I cold change my mind I need to look again at the new Dometics but I hear nothing but good things about the Indel

You can't go wrong either way. Just make sure the one you choose is big enough....

Logan plugged another flatie today through the neck. Gave half the meat to Dad. Tired but good day. Dad would not stop smiling as he helped us cut up the meat. He continued to comment how Logan and I hunt and do up a kill compared to how Dad and I did back in the day. Logan is the apple in his eye! I will take this good day and give many thanks!

Fridge beer is important! But I suppose you have a point about having all 12v stuff on hand to gauge your solar / batt needs . Ice for Scotch is still more important !! Lol

I'll not bring Greg into this he apparently has enough issues. I hope he's doing ok I really have no idea what's going on there if he and his wife worked things out or not and i'm not going to ask him but hope the best for him.
