Good morning gang, trace of snow here finally, not enough for the pup to enjoy, he was still rambunctious, curled up on his bed right now.

    Evening all:
JUST HAD TO LOOK! Was just looking at trade in value for the Tacoma, getting the itch! The trade in value for it looks to be around 6k, I think I would drive it off a cliff before I would give it to a dealer for that! Looks like I will be driving it for awhile, looking for a deal on a privately owned one and selling it outright, or buy a new one and then put mine up for sale. The best option sounds like hanging on to the one I have, at least for awhile, plenty of miles left on it at just under 80k.
HATE buying new vehicles, HATE even thinking about it! :(
Hmmm, wonder if they will offer $186 off of list price on a new one like they did last time, who could pass up a deal like that  , well I sure as H**L did! :D

Carl: I can understand your frustration when buying a new car. I enjoy the process of getting what I feel is the best deal. You need to remember that you are the one with the money not the dealership. Work them for every penny you can. Look at the total price out the door including interest on the loan or as in our case the taxes for taking money out of an IRA.

When I got my truck, talking with the Sales Manager, a used truck I had looked at earlier in the year sold for just a little under the price of a couple year newer truck. I hate dealing too, especially if your research doesnt cover a year or model the dealer trots out. Just have to be a dick head, your money. Years ago, was at a Ford dealer for two hours, just checking. Looked at a four banger Mustang, not really interested in it. Never found out what they wanted for it, just kept asking me how much of a payment i could make.

I agree Duane, the monthly payment should be a low priority. Stay focused on total cost out the door. We financed the Avalon but waited for 0% for 72 Months. This allows us three years when my wife will be retired before the payment are finished. The reduced taxes on money coming out if my IRA is right around $1500. No matter how you legally pay for a vehicle the money is taxed. Sales staff at most dealerships do not have a clue of what happens in an IRA.

Funny thing about my time at that Ford dealer, I told them what I could make in a payment, they had a paper between us on which the salesman was writing monthly payments on. Kept crossing off a figure and writing a new one, only $10 less. He started at twice what I could pay.

Was just browsing Tacoma inventory at some area dealers, lots of 2017 trucks listed @ $750-$2,000 off depending on list. WTH, isn't it the 2018 style year and the 2018's are out, these are leftovers and a lot are still close to list! I can wait! :D
One dealer even had some 2016 leftovers listed, wonder why!

    Afternoon all,
How cold has it gotten back east? Early in the week, temps out west were supposed to get a degree or so warmer as the week went on. Wrong! Just the opposite. 19F here this morning.
Squirrels are still out, not too scared of me. Gray and Douglas squirrels, at least I don't feed the birds so they are eating seeds from either the cedars or maples.

Hi Duane, In DC the temps are highs in the low 40's today with snow tonight. I was doing a little last minute pond maintenance and had to pull Lilly's out of the water. Hands and arms got cold quickly. Fish are still moving but not eating. Cleaned out the pump housing and placed the spot heater in the pond. Taking the afternoon off by listening to Christmas music and doing a few loads of laundry.

Oaks finally dropped their leaves. I did the final yard cleanup of the year. Snow forecast for tomorrow, the day our good friends chose to get married at their lovely but very remote location. People started calling with regrets already! We will be there by hook or by crook. Arriving at a wedding in the Taco -- why not.

Enjoy the day Dave. I hope to finish up my pond winterization today, for the most part. One more application of algaecide and Micro Lift SA next week then clean the filter for the last time this year.

Finally my buddy got his deer, a small doe but it's a deer and he will have meat in the freezer.
Now that he got one we can relax for flintlock and stay home if it's in the single digits or just plain miserable!

Started snowing when we were hunting and have close to 3" at the house now, looks like winter has arrived.

Dang, Navy lost to army! Congrats to the Army guys, if it weren't for the missed field goal we'd have wooped you though! :)

Sue, where are you!

My dad took me to the 1963 Army-Navy game, which was in Philly that year. The presidential box was empty, draped in black. I froze into a popsicle, Roger Staubach led Navy to a win, and the country started getting past the Kennedy assassination.

The wedding was great! A couple of folks needed help getting their cars out of the driveway at the end, but most everyone came. The event was advertised as a birthday party and the wedding was a surprise for many of the guests, which was neat. The snow made their home and the surrounding area look absolutely wonderful. Oh and we got ~7" instead of the 2" or 3" the weather wizards forecast.

Taco brought a new toilet home today. I'll install it later this week after my work year is over -- I'm off for the last 2-1/2 weeks of the year, hurrah!
