I'm gonna go scouting Monday. Naches is supposed to be shut down, but I'll drive out there to explore anyway. If that's a bust I'll check out Carbonado.

To be honest I'm not sure. I don't snowmobile so I'm not up there in the winter. I know that most of the roads up there are closed to wheeled traffic including the 70 rd (Pyramid Pass) and the 7030 rd (Greens Pass). The FS would have stopped updating road conditions mid November because its around November 15th that they close the roads to wheeled traffic and open it to snowmobiles. If I remember right they reopen around mid April. The exception is the Naches Trail, that doesn't technically reopen until mid July.

We'll find out Monday I guess. It's about a $4-5k fix, but I would imagine the body shop should be paying that.

It's not even 4 months old.

Sounds like BS to me. I would call Toyota and check that out. Sucks about the truck man. I saw a snorkel in that photo, did you let @JimSnell penetrate you?

Good idea, I will do that. I just wonder what reason that Toyota dealer had to lie.

I actually ended up doing the snorkel myself - really actually wasn't that hard and did it faster than every shop I talked to.

More like they dont want to give you one.

They tried the same BS with my dad and their highlander. The transmission had something wrong with it (dont remember what) but at 30k miles or so it had to be replaced (per toyota). Tried to give my dad a reman which my dad fought for a few days before they finally "found" a new one. This was in a 2011 they bought new from that dealer and it was like 2013 when it was replaced.

The dealer might not have a new one readily available though and might take a couple days of shipping. Which that i could believe

I totally agree, it doesn't sound right but I don't know why the dealership would lie since they (or Toyota USA) aren't having to pay for the install since it’s not a warranty issue.

I’ll call the dealer I bought it from in the morning and ask them.

Cause $$$. A reman has more profit for Toyota. Toyota is going to take your damaged one and send it off for reman and then sell it (assuming it can be rebuilt that is). Unless the body shop wants it of course. But Toyota gets the damaged one basically for free, send it to some company who maybe spends 500 bucks to go through it and then Toyota gets it back and can charge 2-3k for it. VS a new one that company X is getting the majority of the profit instead.

Remans can be quite frustrating. Friend had his truck in for some diagnosis which turned out to be a bad alternator. Took 3 reman units that were supposedly tested before the shop got a working one (well working within specs)
