Love it! Got it on Amazon. That's the size the distributor recommends for having optimum radio reception.

A while back, I spent almost $300 on a Sony double-DIN head unit, and almost immediately I noticed that my favorite radio station was not coming in as well as it had on the Pioneer single-DIN it replaced.

I was worried it was the factory antenna, but it turned out the Sony was a lemon and the antenna was fine, and I exchanged it for a Boss head unit which worked flawlessly. I still replaced the antenna though...

Why? Because I work at a bar and drunks seem to be attracted to my truck for some reason. Most drunks are probably attracted to my truck's silver shininess, and the rest seem to think my truck is trying to fight them. In layperson's terms, people will just start leaning on my truck like they own the damn thing, or they will look like they want to throw down just because I beep at them or flash my high-beams. My truck has actually been attacked by drunks while I was driving!

Anyway, some douchebag physically bent my antenna while my truck was in the parking lot at work. This was all the reason I needed to get a new antenna.

When I briefly worked at Dunkin Donuts in October 2013, somebody threw an iced latte or something at my truck while it was parked in the adjacent parking lot. I have no way of actually proving this, but there was an ex-friend of mine (who also has Asperger's and is supposedly Bipolar as well) who also wanted that job at Dunkin Donuts. His reputation was far from stellar, and a female employee of the Dunkin Donuts told the regional manager not to hire him. When he found out I got the job despite being less qualified than him (he'd worked at McDonald's for like 4 years so believe it or not he did have more experience), I believe he saw my truck parked near the place he wanted to work and splattered his drink on the driver's door out of spite...

I’ll have to check out the antenna then see about snagging one.

Drunks attracted to something shiney, no way! :D

That dude deserves to have his dick nailed to a slow moving train for doing that to another mans truck

    @Iamraiderpower

Driving one of the most distinctive Tacomas in my area has led to issues in the past...

One time in August 2015, I rear-ended a Mustang GT in stop-and-go traffic at like 5 MPH. The damage was minor, but nobody wants to be in an accident, especially when it's their fault!

I was hoping to keep the accident on the down-low, but when I went into work later that day, one of my coworkers asked me about the accident. I immediately wanted to know how the hell he'd known about it when I hadn't told anybody but my parents and my boss (HINT: My boss doesn't just blab that kind of stuff).

Turns out a friend of the bartender who knew me through that bartender and had met me maybe once or twice, was driving past the accident scene and saw me standing next to my clearly-damaged truck. He promptly texted the bartender.

I've learned that it's better to just tell people about shit like that, because everybody knows everybody and thanks to smartphones and social media, word travels fast...

    It's really fucking obnoxious...

Yea this day and age, word travels faster than a small town track meet. Good to know you didn’t hurt the ol taco too bad.

One time the soda guns at the bar where I work failed, so my boss gave me cash and sent me to the supermarket to buy some 12-packs of various soda.

I come back and park my truck in the alley in front of the bar, and grab the cans of soda.

Out of nowhere, this tall drunk guy decides he doesn't feel like standing, completely fails to notice the wall of the building, and casually gets into position to lean against this random truck that just pulled up.

I was in too much of a rush to yell at him, and plus my hands were loaded with soda boxes. I just looked at him and repeatedly said "Please don't touch the Tacoma. Please don't touch the Tacoma." until he got out of his alcohol-induced stupor and staggered away from my truck.

Or the woman in the Mustang GT...

People these days are so damn litigious. My friend's wife rear-ended someone's SUV in her old Grand Am. The damage to Grand Am was pretty bad, but the SUV had no damage and both vehicles were driveable. They only had liability on the Pontiac and it probably would have been totaled anyway if they did have full coverage, so they paid out of pocket to fix it. Unfortunately, the driver of the SUV claimed back pain, filed a claim with my friend's insurance company, and their rates went through the roof...

I had this little encounter with a drunk woman in a Lexus SC430 in that same alley in front of the bar where I work. My foot slipped off the brake pedal and my Tacoma rolled into her car as drove past. There was no damage to my Taco, but the pearl white Lexus had a barely noticeable black scuff on the driver's side. This was my very first accident, and my parents had always told me to exchange information and call the police, regardless of how minor the collision was and regardless of who was at fault. My truck was pushed up against this Lexus and any attempt to move the Lexus would have fucked it up even more. Woman asked me to back my truck up so she could move her car without damaging it. I backed my truck up, expecting her to just move her car out of the way and exchange info with me. This woman worked right around the corner from the bar, and she took off around the corner, parked her car at her work, and disappeared...

I'm 99% sure she wanted to sober up a bit so she didn't get a DUI.

In addition to this woman fleeing the scene, I had two bouncers and a bartender from the bar, plus about a dozen customers at varying levels of intoxication, who didn't even think there'd been an impact. A bouncer shined his flashlight on the area of the alleged impact and found a scuff mark on the bumper and a scratch on the fender. This woman just disappeared and I was really flustered. Her boyfriend used to moonlight as a bartender at the same bar I work at, and he happened to be tending bar that night, so I told him what happened. I was so flustered that I inadvertently made it seem like she had hit my truck and fled. Boyfriend calls up Ms. Lexus and chews her out, and Ms. Lexus confronts me in the parking lot about 30 minutes later and starts cussing me out. I never once swore at her...

Her boyfriend took a look at the Lexus that night, was absolutely sure the damage could be buffed out, and told me that everything was going to be okay. I believed I would be off the hook...
