Got a few inches of snow yesterday in Somerville, drove through it to Weston for Molly's family dinner. Truck drove perfectly, as expected. Didn't even need 4x4 except to get out of my un-plowed lot.

Trucks under about 5-6 inches of snow... it'll melt then freeze to it and I'll be fucked friday when I get home - yay

on another note I had some fun today in the rental... Found some salt flats - didn't get pictures of the off road race course we discovered but I was doing donuts and driving sideways for days in the slightly wet mud.

 

Only a couple inches of green maybe

I actually really like the Hankooks on my truck. They have held up well over multiple seasons. A good friend ran them on his WRX for a few seasons with good results. They were quite reasonable as well.

 

I think one, or more, of the tpms on my winter wheels might be bad. Light was flashing on the way home from lunch at the in-laws.

Unless flashing/blinking means something else... FML.

 

Probably not programmed in the ECU correctly. It takes a while (about 15 miles or 20 minutes) for the light to come on after the winter wheel changeover if I am too lazy to reprogram the ECU. If the summer tires are near the truck in the garage, the light may go off. That'll tell you Firestone didn't reprogram the truck.

They said they reprogrammed it, so I take their word for it that they did. Don't have a reason to believe they didn't. This place has been really good the times I've been there.

Guess I'll see what happens later then, when I go to my parents house. I bought the wheels used, so it could very well be that the sensors are old and starting to go.

 

Just happened to me last month. If it's blinking it means the sensor itself has gone bad, not that the tire pressure is low. I took mine in to my neighborhood shop and swapped it out with a new one. Quick reprogram and I was on my way.

 

I actually live just over 15 miles from my work. Depending on where I park the truck in the driveway sometimes the truck and see the sensors from where I have them stored. I can get almost all the way to work before the light shows up.

The light will blink when it first sees an issue and then go solid when it's not reading them. I probably should have put TPMS sensors in the snow tires, but I don't want to spend the $$$ to reprogram every year. I'll have to see if my friend's eBay based TechStream can program TPMS sensors for the 3G.

 

TPMS another function solely to help idiots... I love that my truck is pre TPMS I’d much rather just walk around the truck each day.. I considered buying a new T4R this fall for work and the occasional light trail and honestly all the safety sensors and idiot sensors like TPMS were a big factor on why I didn’t. I am not a fan of what is happening to modsrn cars

Yeah mine went on and off. If yours comes back on have them check for a sensor that isn't transmitting. The battery is probably going out.

If not, then you're good to go!
