It definitely doesn't drive like a sports car. Agree on that point. If you go from feathering the throttle to punching to the floor it seemed to hesitate while the computer was thinking and then it would slowly ramp up the RPMS. Best description I could think of would be turbo lag. On the other hand if you were feathering it and slowly putting the pedal to the floor, the response was much better.

Only 300 miles here, but yes...shifting is WAY better than my 2016, even after the TSB. Engine and transmission finally seem connected. Feels more like my 2016 did when it was in ECT mode.

The rarely mentioned SR/SR5 grille. And before anyone says it, yes, the same as last year with the new emblem.

I was also shocked at the price on the SR5 Access cab. Geez Louise.

Yea what’s up with pricing? I built a TRD sport manual premium/tech on the website and it told me with destination fee it was MSRP $38,200.

The few I’ve seen configured like that within 500 miles of me are listed with an MSRP of like $41,xxx.

I thought I read it would be like 1k more than the ‘17?

There is a thread on here that gives you the invoice price. Grab that data and email four or five dealers and find one that will sell it to you for invoice plus $995 shipping. You'll get some nibbles.

Honestly I took the first 2018 that was manual. Turns out barcelona red is awesome.
I was skeptical. I think all taco colours work, just order one!

Ok now do a full review with pics. How's the 6M and radar cruise? Any dislikes? I'm hoping mine will be in this week.

The MT are the best in this truck. I drove a OR DCLB in an automatic the other day. Good lord that transmission jerking all over the place up and down, I couldn't live with that shit.

Will post review w pics soon. Only one drive so far. First impressions are:

    +
Manual tranny is awesome, intuitive, forgiving
Drives like a small truck, good visibility
Truck is quiet on highway (michelin xice 2 winter tires)
Fuel consumption @100kmh is very good (10.5l ish per 100km)
I like the high seating position
    Sound system seems good, robust
The access cab is awesome, seats are good for two fit passsengers (i wouldnt want to put a larger person back there...)
Chrome bumper caps are not as ugly as I thought
    Barcelona red is awesome
Headlights are very good, upgraded bulbs dont even make that much of a difference. The low beam bulb housing really directs and shapes the light in a very defined beam.
Dynamic cruise is actually really cool. At level 3 (50m) i found the car very responsive. Definitely enjoyed the radar aspect. Not a fan of lane departure because i tend to drive on the line if on a small 1 lane road. Probably good for long drives if super bored.
Activating dynamic cruise is simple. The car gives good feedback when it recognizes a car and is moderating speed.
Activating / disabling lane departure is super simple
Collision system... well if it ever saves me i will be grateful. I am concerned though that someday it might just slam on the brakes. Although with a warning i reckon you could bypass by hitting acceleration. Time will tell.
New grille is actually cool, i wont replace w trd grille

    -
The entertainment system sucks, but I didnt buy a taco for navigation
Steering wheel adjustment range is crappy, but fine for me
Check charging system warning when starting the truck is misleading (manual says to stop driving immediately, however when engine isnt turning and key is turned the warning appears)
Could use hill assist, I dont mind using handbrake but my VW TDI has it and I just stopped using the handbrake when on hills

That looks good! Still think I want a white Pro. Looking to get out of my F150 for one. I’ve been weighing out the pros and cons of each truck.

It is actually the full pro graphics package that is an option on other pros, but the decals barely show up on the black paint.
