I live in the woods. So.....

Lightning struck a big short needle pine tree beside my house. The roots of it run out under my dog pen, but they were OK. Wild eyed, but OK. The impact spot burned for a couple of hours and the lightning blew a trench 15' long from the tree to the light pole there with the night light. Also, that night light hasn't worked in 2 years and now it does.

Thread revival. My brother bought some farm land recently and behind the old barn was a gully with an old,old trash dump. I poked around in it a bit and found these.

Neat! depending on the age of the dump you'll find glass bottles nearby. The tin cans are "newer" but still old.

I always talk to law enforcement when I see them around. Keeps my leo karma good and I sometimes learn useful things.
The only time I wouldn't talk to them is if they want to search my vehicle or something. However that has never happened. I'd much rather see police around than a bunch of tweakers looking for stuff to steal.

There's a lake in northern Maine called Eagle Lake (middle of butt-fucking-nowhere). There are 2 old steam locomotives out in the middle of the woods about 500ft off the edge of the lake. They are really cool, we've ridin to them in the winter by snowmobile. I think you can hike there in the summer too, but that's only after driving logging roads for many miles and a hour or so hike.[IMG]

Wait, I get it. You're worried I might get busted for open container if the cops catch me driving around with those old cans in my truck.

Thanks for looking out for me man.:fistbump:

Only use one syllable words and no conjunctions with them. It keeps things more interesting.

In the woods by my house. Rare southern snow and I went stomping about looking for something to shoot. I found two of these trees in a 30 acre wood. They were the only trees not frozen and covered in snow. What snow did land on them was melting off. Weird.

It's working so far, I got stopped in Henderson, NV awhile ago for going twice the speed limit in a school zone. Got a verbal warning.

That's different from socializing with them.
When I got stopped for the school zone issue I said as little as possible and gave them my driver's license, insurance card, and the rental car stuff. I didn't make any excuses I only said "i'm not from around here."

    I agree with this 100%.
I am talking about socializing with police and being neighborly, not answering questions in an investigation or allowing any searches.
