This is kind of urgent, and my searching didn't lead me to the right thread...

I have been offered $1817 off of $39,390.00 for a 2017 TRD Sport in Ontario. They are are throwing in a TRD grille, because I'm a loyal customer. I checked with some of the free calculators, and I understand $39,390 to be dealer cost in Ontario.

This happens to be a lease trade-in as well - I would be looking at about $4680 in penalties (20k mileage allowance, went way over as a result of commute distance changing and a couple of longer road trips...).

    Any comments?

Can someone direct me to a Canadian pricing thread (other than the 3rd Gen Canadian thread)?

$1817 off a '17 Sport is a good deal. The '17s are still being shipped to our local dealer. There is a price increase for the '18 and if you don't care about the TSS now would be a good time to buy.

Sorry, Car Cost Canada's free service listed $38,320.00, Unhaggle lists invoice as $37,399.00. My APA membership is expired, and I'm not sure about renewing for $40 to get an APA quote.

Does anyone know how mileage penalties figure in this situation?

Is $1817 from MSRP of $39,390.00 really that good? I recall APA saving me about $2100 last year on a 2016 TRD Sport - price increase between 2016 and 2017 for the Sport was about $1100.00. In addition to the mileage penalty, my truck had quite a bit of body work done following 4 separate parking lot hit and run's. I don't recall the buyback number they offered on appraisal, but it I don't recall it being way lower than the residual in the lease agreement (don't have the work sheet I penned at the dealership on Saturday so can't confirm).

Considering the mileage penalty I'd be facing ($4680 approx.), at first glance, $1817 off with TRD grille thrown in, seems great. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

I can't comment on the lease mileage penalty, I've never leased a vehicle. You have to remember that there was around $1500 price increase on the '18 so that makes the '17 desirable to buyers. Also some don't want the TSS. Getting an extra $1800 off the MSRP save you over $3300 on the '18.

I am assuming the model you want is a double cab short bed V6 manual TRD Sport Upgrade package.

Invoice is $36345, to which you would add:

markup of $250 to 1000 depending on how skilled you are as a negotiator. $500 should be achievable with minimal negotiation given that the 2018s are launched now. I would not be willing to go over $500 markup, but that's me.

    freight+pdi: $1785

    tire fee: $22

    OMVIC: $10

    air con tax: $100

    HST

    plates and 2-year sticker $297

Also, you should 100% try to get a TRD Pro grille thrown into that deal for "free."

    Good luck!

Must be a regional thing, but Tacoma's here sell basically for msrp.

$1817 off plus a $400 USD pro grill,. That seems like an excellent deal to me.

Also a double cab sport with an auto trans can only be had with a long bed

guessing you went on the site that says prices to pay etc.

Just remember that, that only works for cars that are mass sold like the corolla and camry here.
The tacos don't sell as much I tried that and they explained it to me. They'll flex with price more when its something with more competition.

I got around $3000 off mine.
Just wondering where are you in Ontario?
I got my 2017 TRD off road DCSB from Stouffville toyota in january brand new. Paid $50,400 out the door. Including tonneau cover, block heater, tub mats, spare tire lock, and bed mat.

I really suggest trying with Stouffville if its not too far. They were the best dealer which is why I got mine from there after going to all the dealers in the Toronto area. Their service department are also the only ones that haven't been idiots to me and try and turn me away just cause I have a lift.

I suggest staying far far away from Scarborough Toyota.

Where are you located? You can buy Tacomas for $1000 over invoice all day long in the greater Toronto area.

My friend bought a 2017 Tacoma for $1000 over invoice, inclusive of an installed TRD Pro grille, the day after the 2018s were launched.

As far as I know, you can get a 2017 4x4 Double Cab V6 Automatic SB TRD Sport Upgrade Package for $40445 MSRP.

My dealer matched unhaggle on my 16 with a 500$ markup. Print it off and take it in see what kind of deal you can work out.

I paid $40,852 + GST for my 2017 DCSB automatic Off Road model. So about $42,900 out the door with tax. It was about $2750 off msrp and then add doc fee plus block heater and tub mats.

OP, Tacoma has one of the best resale values of any new vehicle in Canada. Would it make sense for you to try and sell it privately? I know your accidents complicate things but it may work in your favour still. Before my Tacoma I leased a Tundra and I sold it instead of trading it in. I made back thousands of $ in positive equity, as residual was way lower than market value. Tacoma has even better resale up here.

That's news to me. A double cab short bed is only for the trd off road in the automatic as far as I know in Canada.
If you get the double cab short bed in a trd sport in Canada that only Comes in a standard transmission.
2018 sees the limited also go double cab short bed for Canada

I bought my 2016 4runner trail with unhaggle, worked great and painlessly

DCSB has a $3100 mark up. This was a 2017 when they were first released.

Got $2000 off instantly, no doc fee, accessories at cost and $2500 more for the trade in than other dealers would offer.

Went through a friend but honestly Canadian dealers won't negotiate Tacomas sell too well.

I'm interested in some Canadian pricing info as well. More specifically Ontario pricing.

I'm looking at a 2017 DCSB Off-road. Best price I have is $45602 - $750 for cash purchase so about $44850 out the door. How much better should I be able to do? That price was with a $2146 discount off of the $ 40545 MSRP

Invoice for that model is $37399. To that you would add:

    $1785 Freight/PDI
    $500 markup (say)
    $22 tire stewardship fee
    $10 OMVIC
    $100 air conditioning tax
    HST
    $297 plates and 2-year sticker

And ask for a TRD Pro grille. 2018s are out now, 2017s are old.
