I know the feels... I dont see my kid on certain days of the week that I have school... get up at 5AM, go to work, get off at 5pm, go to school until 10pm, get home at 11pm, and do it all over again the next day.

let me take a quick poll: (phrasing)

Who here still owes money on their truck AND does not use their truck as a daily commute?

Me! I pulled out a small loan (9.5k) to get my truck. We could have bought it cash, but since our interest rate is low, we’d rather just make payments and have the cash invested other places, making us money.

I have my Subaru Legacy as my DD

It’s much nicer! My truck is my “beater” since it’s an 05 with 170k miles on it, but it’s still in great condition.

haha none of this is true.

I'm not ready to sell anything... It's just something that's nagging me....

I drive 2 hours a day (1 hr each way) for 4 days a week

the 5th day, I drive 2 hours one way and 2 hours home...

So total, I drive for about 12 hours a week.

I drive the Prius exclusively since 50mpg > 16 mpg

yet, the Tacoma costs me ~$350 a month (since I paid $18,500 for it) and the Prius costs me $0 a month in car payments

I feel like I'm throwing away money since I only drive the truck about 20-30 minutes per WEEK.... so do I really want to pay [roughly] $175 / hour to drive my truck on an average month???

My thoughts on selling both vehicle and just buying a nice, fun, car similar to a WRX or something and going a lot crazier on the 4Runner (sliders, winch, etc...)

I can pretty much get a brand new WRX for about the same amount each month since I'll have money to throw down by selling the Prius / Tacoma

that way, I can enjoy my hard earned money on my every day commute

    or am I thinking crazy???

and before anyone freaks out, this is just a thought, my truck isnt for sale or anything.... I'm just kinda feeling bleh with it.

or an ALTERNATIVE option.... sell both vehicles.... pay cash for an off road toy (maybe an older 4Runner or a 1st Gen Taco) and have a (maybe not brand new, but NEWER) daily commuter.....

so that way, I can actually enjoy the benefit of my car payment.

Just drive your truck more! Don’t have to drive it every day, but if it’s nice out, take it to work with you. I generally drive my car on work days, and my truck everywhere on my off days.

I've seriously thought about it.... just dumping everything I can on it and paying it off ASAP since all the MAJOR stuff is done on the truck....

who knows... you know I change my mind a lot..... almost as much as you change your mind about lunch dates ;)
