    You missed this:

    That's why I tagged you ;)

And I got mad love for the XJ - I grew up bombing around in the back seat of a bone stock 4x4 base model manual as a kid on the logging roads of northern Maine!

Only reason m for me not getting a 80’s is because they’re heavier than the xj and I wanted something lighter than my truck was. Anyways been watching your 80’s build and it’s truly a nice build. One of the cleanest I’ve seen.

Thanks man, I dig the XJ. And yes the Cruiser is a heavy bitch, even empty. Did you happen to get a model with a full gauge cluster or just the one big speedometer? Liked driving my friends XJ cause the AX5 or 15 can't remember... Felt exactly like my Tacoma and with the 4.0 they drove almost identical. They flex pretty well stock, those rear leafs are awesome, always wanted to do what the Xterra folks do and use a slider shackle, thought that would gain mad rear flex on a budget. Any plans to beef the unibody, saw a guy use 2x6 steel to make sliders that doubled as frame stiffeners.

I’ve got the ruff stuff frame stiffeners welded on and some 2x6’s welded on to start the boat sides. Shouldn’t have to worry about the unibody. I’ve got the full gauge cluster. Didn’t know they made two different styles.

Sweet, that'll beef it up nice. This was the gauge cluster I was talking about, good news is you'd never wonder how much fuel you had.

Mines like the top. Maybe I don’t have the full gauge cluster haha. Didn’t know they made 2 different models. Learn something new everyday

Very true...I did get a wrangler after all instead of an XJ. And it may turn pink if the red ever fades.

Yeah I’m going to upgrade the cooling. Still researching on what to go with tho. Got any ideas since you had one before?

Can't you just pull the top off and the doors? Instant cooling?

Should be done next month. All my steering will be ordered here shortly, rear leafs and shocks. Prob taking it to ECGS to have gears installed.
