On the advice of a buddy, I picked up the Orvis Nail Knot Tool - Waaaaay easier than the other one. So much easier using that curved indentation to pinch the leader & fly line. Knocked it out of the park on my first try. Going to redo all of my mono butt sections with perfection loops this winter using Maxima Chameleon 25lb.

The same shit everyone else has.
Rifle deer season is over in PA. Time to shift my focus back on tying and fishing on Saturday's again. Lets hope my cold goes away before next weekend now.

As much as I like sitting in the woods with a rifle hunting all day long, Id rather be fishing.

Heres 2 shots from last Sunday -

This fly shop is about a 1/2 mile from my house. Great guys run the place, buy with confidence, I'm sure that you'll be treated right.

Well I just received a call from the fly shop and they're all out of stock on this model. Wish they had current info on their website.

That was a limited edition run (the black) and they're all out. No more coming in.

Was wanting 2 of those reels for my Alaska trip next year. :frusty:

Been scouring the web for bargains, closeouts, etc. Thought I hit the jackpot here.

Anybody into building their own rods? I was really into it (built every rod I used), but haven't built one in quite a while. At the time I stopped, Dan Craft blanks were a hidden gem (on par with some top of the line rods and pretty reasonably priced), and I built up a fantastic 3 weight on one of his blanks. I'm thinking of replacing my 5wt (Sage VPS that I've had for quite a few years) with a new rod this winter, and am just curious if there is anybody around here into the rodbuilding game that has any suggestions on par with Dan Craft's blanks.

Damn! I guess I put my foot in my mouth. I know the two brothers that own the shop...I'll bitch at them the next time I see them! :annoyed:
