Bummer on the top hat. You've seen the spacer on top reinforcement? Cheap insurance.

No but I was thinking about having something like that. Who makes it?

Just need to purchase some slightly longer bolts to go along with them. Really easy job, only pain is getting at that damn rear top hat bolt! Write up in my build thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...eep-things-light.409330/page-34#post-15287569

Long ago @HBMurphy made a hand full of nice reinforcements out of a slightly thinner material but that also included a bent lip over the gap in the C to give even more strength in that region. Mere mortals such as myself now make do with the RevTec spacer instead!

I'm surprised there are no aftermarket plate steel coil buckets. Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult or expensive; perhaps there aren't enough buyers to make development worth the investment.

a lot of work to cut the buckets off and realign them. its a far easier task to reinforce

These most recent pictures are after the fender bender your wife got in? Looks like the bumper was unaffected. You have aluminum right? Do you know what speed the impact was at? I have the same bumper, curious about its impact resilience.

Not sure on speed, previous accident was 30ish. It will take a decent hit so i wouldn’t worry too much

Yeah I started to mess with the filler area, so I had to pull the bar out. The headboard is getting a redesign tho so It will look different on the next one.

Threw on some shit yesterday, totally staged. But I am thinking of taking a trip this winter up north with just the flatbed so I am trying to get a good idea how I want things situated.

Does anyone have their compressor wired for standalone usage, not hard mounted with alligator clips for power. I want to bring the compressor with me next week out west

    Check out the build
Mines hard wired, but looking at ARB's kit they just put alligator clips on the end of the harness.

For the portable compressor right? Im curious how its wired. I have the hard wired version so I just got the bundle of wires that ARB puts with the compressor. Id prefer not to have a switch if I dont have to, seems unnecessary for when its portable and you have to connect it to power anyways.

Thanks Ill take a look to see how he did it

Yeah my spod is no more, its how it used to be wired up. That would be a lot of work anyways to bring the spod, wiring, compressor. I am just wanting the compressor to turn on, fill tires, and the compressor can go back in a bag

After just installing my ARB yesterday, it doesn't look like it'd be too hard. I think this would work, and fire right up when you connect it to the battery. The way I understand it, the purple/black going into the compressor just send a small 12v signal to tell the ARB to turn on (just an internal relay).
