I get those and the dead air calls..............one day I am going to snap......or let my 9 year old answer the shit. They are on the business land line too, so I cannot block them as easily

I hope it stops soon tho. We used to NOT get them like this!

 

What gets me is the ones that call my cell phone from a localish number so it makes you think it’s actually somebody on the other end.

Telemarketers didn’t used to call cell phones...
what changed?

 

There is a name for that where they clone or use a legit looking number. Hell, some of the google leads shit has called from numbers showing up as MUSC or other legit shit around here. Makes one leery to answer the phone anymore For my cell, I use the Mr Number app and that cut a lot of the crap calls out. For the land line, since it is a biz line, I am hosed!

 

Unless it’s one of my contacts I usually don’t answer any numbers I don’t know. If it’s important someone will leave a message or call again

 

This. I almost never answer my phone unless they're in my contacts. I usually tell people to text me first or I won't answer.

 

if they don't leave a message, it must not have been important enough to merit a call back. I never answer a number that's not in my phone.

 

A lot of them are using voice over IP now, so they can make the number look anyway they want.

 

I started getting the credit cards calls fresh after I picked up a new Kohl's card for Christmas spending. Coincidence? I think not.

In business, I negotiate terms and conditions (T&C's) all the time. It is expected.

As consumers, if we do not accepts T&C's- we can not ulilize the service.

 

The wrangler I bought is being delivered!! I know the oversized wheels and tires were off for shipping so I’ll have to put those on as well as hook the battery up and check levels.

 

I don't answer the phone unless I know the number, no message must not be important, mostly deal in text. If I do answer the phone they get about 5 secs to tell me who they are or else I hang up.

 

Be careful with them. If you're literally a day late with your payment, they'll start blowing up your phone about it. Its so bad I'm telling my wife we're cancelling our card after the holidays.

 

On my cell I rarely even answer for numbers I know! It is just sooooooooooooo aggravating on the damn business land line And I also get the beep shit too! So, some stooge trying to sell shit (even tho is is NOT a sales call??), the dead air, the recorded crap and the beep thing. Maybe they work for the booze companies? Or the medicine companies? I could see where it could push one over the edge with it all

 

One thing for sure, I am never late on credit or loan payments. That's a quick ride to credit score fail!

I'm never *late* on a payment. However, some months payday falls awkwardly, and it gets put in literally a day or two late.

What sucks with credit? I had paid all mine down and my score stayed stagnant. I got the truck loan and the score jumped 100 points in like 3 months with that. Then I got a lower rate but high limit CC and it jumped even more. Now I wonder if it will drop once I pay off the truck? Or maybe I will get a jetski (where to store it?) or some other shit to pay off. It is a farking scam for sure tho!

 

Sitting at the dealership to see if they will fix my truck under warranty, it’s sad they said it would take a hr to look at it and figure out if it would be covered.
