    TW,

Anyone have experience reprogramming TPMS system to forget there was a 5th sensor?

I rock a 2006 which has 5 sensors (4x wheel, 1x spare tire). I would like to replace the 4 wheel sensors when i change tires and eliminate the spare tire sensor instead of replacing it.

Is this possible? I know from reading threads, toyota went to a 4 sensor set up a few years later.

    Thanks for the help TW!

What about changing hardware? If i remember correctly, there is a receiver in the headliner. Or maybe another chip somewhere?

Now swapping "antenna" from a 12+ with only 4 sensors might do it for you.

Couldn't you input 000000 or FFFFFF for the spare? I'm too lazy to search for it.

Open up the gauges, and cover or remove the LED.

Much better solution is to put in a switch to kill the light or clip and tuck the wire. There's threads for it, again too search to lazy to post the link.

Now that you say that there might be a trick too it, just know you have to put something in there.

Are you saying it doesn't work? or it's too hard to program?

Thanks to all who replied. Ill search again for antenna and the hexadecimal input. Super appreciate the help

Not interested in disabling the light. If i were to go that route im the type to put a piece of electrical tape over it.

5th sensor is a no go, im ditching the spare. Original has been sitting there for 11 years and would look lame with high clearance.

    Thanks again TW!

My logic has always been, if you have a spare, you won't get a flat. That's why all my vehicles and trailers have a spare.
