    Yes! Should have reported back.

The whine is coming from the AC idler pulley. I guess the muddy water crossings this weekend did the bearing in. Turns out the reason the sounds disappears when I press the clutch is just the sudden drop in rpms, rather anything to do with the clutch or trans at all.

Yep. Way easier than the other thing I did this weekend. Haha

Will be DIY-ing a HC rear with bedside hoops. (Better late than never?) The CBI is gorgeous but I can’t bring myself to pony up the doll hairs.

I know I’ve seen a few home made versions on here, but can’t remember who they belonged to. If anyone could point me to them I’d appreciate it. Have the basic design in mind, but always open to inspiration.

@capturecolorado had a home made one and so does @Squeaky Penguin I have that same dent on my passenger side, it is easy enough to pop out a bit of it but yeah a bumper would be a nice addition. I want to make a rear but can't find the time right now.

Going to give the dents the old college try. Know I can get it to pop out, but the creases will remain.

    Thanks for the tags!

    Looks nice!

How big does it feel in your hand now? Coming from a 2nd gen, one of my favorite things about my 1st gen is the skinny wheel.

I can't lie- adding the 4mm paracord boosted the girth quite a bit.

And the steering wheel is also wider :rimshot:

108k miles. Possibly never changed. Still has the factory Denso/NKG setup.

The color difference between the two sets is interesting. The Denso's look perfect - gap is a little wide though ;)

Headed out exploring to some dirt today, just to get it into 4WD to break in the new front gears a bit.

Yeah the NKGs seem to have a white thing going on. Maybe the reason Toyota goes full Denso for after factory replacement? Or maybe a early sign of a larger issue?

    Here’s a better pic of a NKG.

If those plugs really have 108k on them, probably can't really trust them to indicate a potential issue anymore. Check the new ones in a few thousand miles and see what they look like, that'll be more telling.

Nice! Snow level is all the way down to the creek now, huh?

How does it feel with the new gears?

Snow level is just barely down to the creek now. It's really more like several days of frost that have built up in the shade, hahahaha! Was definitely chilly though, and probably ~3-4" of snow at the very end of 9021 where it's blocked by rocks.

Gears are awesome. Working on the write-up in the next few days.

How did you like Sand Hollow, Lauren?

I grew up in St. George, and I’ve been on almost all of the trails in your photos. I’ve bombed up that sand hill in my old CJ5 a ton of times!

    Anyway, nice work!
