If you lock it out, it will fly up and down XC style courses (just rode a 40 mile out and back on the Arizona Trail) but open the valving and it eats up the chunky stuff like Brian Head and Southern Utah.

Gravity wise, I ran a couple of the Utah Gravity Series super D races last year ("Enduro" before it was cool) and I have run it through Canyons and Deer Valley Bike Parks multiple times last year.

I feel bad about bashing on my good bike worth many $$$ though, so for cheap on craigslist I picked up an actual DH bike for park use before Halloween just to avoid wear and tear. The Fox coil on the back is great so far!

Good call on the Wilson...I had a buddy who killed it in races with one. If its a 26 Im sure you got it for quite a steal! It is amazing how the market for bikes has changed so much with many new sizes and standards constantly coming out. It makes older bikes lose value pretty fast...that said, you cant really go wrong with anything from 2011 and newer.

26 ain't dead! But it kinda is if you try to buy new parts. Gotta look a little harder. And yeah, I basically stole it and a 40 pound full alloy DH monster is pretty hard to steal! :benchpress:

That's still a solid ride man, only thing that killed me on my other rides was I kept using a magic mary front 26 tire. Thing gripes, but damn does it slow everything down. Having 27.5 does help through the gardens much more. Im still too nervous to bring a carbon bike into dh so Im happy to stay aluminum! Funny about the 26 aint dead...that punchline lives strong on PB!

Does anyone here have any reference for the fox 2.0 rear shock part numbers.

Called fox, they say... the lift listed on the website is the shock you want to run for the height. For example 2" lift run the 2" shock.

I have seen other people choosing the part number for a 3"-5" lift while running a 2" AAL or Pack??

The collapsed and extended lengths of the 3"-5" are longer than the 2" OME kit.

If I understand it correctly, Fox uses the same shocks for the 2nd and 3rd gen, so because the 3rd gen is already lifted 1", the 3"-5" part number would be the one you want if you're going for 2"+ over stock. I'm sure Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road can explain better or even correct me.

I run 2.5 in the front w/Total Chaos

In the rear i run a 12 inch smoothie with a shock relocation and shackle flip. Ridin on dakars as well.

Are you asking specifically for rear? I believe you may be talking about an extended rear shock. Possibly fitting a Fox Rear shock from Tundra, it fits on 2 to 3.5” rear Tacoma lifts from my research here. Otherwise the standard rear shock Fox is recommending is fine with a rear lift of 0 to 1.5”. Yes, a 2” lift AAL should be okay.

As for the front, it really is a 0 to 2.5” of lift due to 3rd gens coming with 1” lift from factory vs 2nd gens. This would be the same no matter if it’s Fox, King, Icon, ADS.

I have Kings on the front and will replace the rears with Kings when I have the money. One thing to keep in mind with Fox, if you want to go with a custom size spring on the coil overs you have to buy the shocks with the standard spring and then pay for the springs you really want and change them out. I was leaning to King already but this pushed it over the edge when I found this out. Oh I have called king and talked to a human, have never been able to at Fox. Bought through Filthy Motor Sports.

Well, I think your asking a rhetorical question in reference to the companies, their respective iconic branded colors and the relevant top shelf equalities.

    PM Sent :)

The majority of shocks/coilovers remained the same from 05-15 (Fox, King, Icon, ADS, OME and the rear Bilsteins). The 3rd gens do sit a little higher so the out-of-the-box lift heights on the coilovers would be around 1" less on the 3rd gens then they would be on the 2nd.

You guys that are running Kings, are you running the OEM Performance Kits in 25001-119A on the front and 25001-121A for the rears? Finally, are these available in extended travel. I can't decipher from their website.

    Thanks,

I’ve had ome, icon, and king. I’d say go with whatever gets the best deal.

Kings are over rated. Good shocks but a lot of people get them just to say they have kings.

Also if kings aren’t in stock go with something else. I have never experienced customer service so bad when I was waiting for my kings.
