Questions for you folks; thought this was a perfect group to ask. For everyone that has a lift on their vehicle:

    1. Did you tell your insurance company about the lift?
    2. If you told them, did it make any difference?

I was switching the insurance from the Taco to the Tundra over the weekend, on Flo's website, and when I answered "Yes" to the question of whether it had a conversion done on it, got taken down a rathole of other questions. I bailed, and will just simply call later today, but was wondering if any of you had any specific experience. I did the Googly thing earlier this morning, and it seems like this is a very muddy topic.

    TIA.

I've not disclosed it to my insurance company as I don't want them looking too hard at me if something happens and I need to make a claim for something that happened offroad. Sort of worried that the whole "Well this vehicle was lifted so you obviously intended to use it off-road" might happen.

    Mostly stuff I built.
I have all my mods listed with my insurance company. Makes your rate go up a touch but worth it in my opinion. Mods broken down over 4 vehicles adds about $125 a year to my total premium. That’s lifts, tires, wheels, armor, performance mods you name it.
I just had to give a list of mods and the price for each. As I make changes I simply call and update what I have done. Make sure you include shipping and installation cost. Germaina insurance company by the way.

Definitely need to talk with them, but I would keep it generic, as in "what is your coverage for modifications?" I have asked before for stereo components and was told that your policy will dictate the amounts that may be covered. As for "usage" when something breaks and you need a claim,,, I don't off-road so never pursued. I think most are fine with a certain level of mods, assuming that they are "permanently" installed, up to some policy limit, after that you need additional coverage.

still trying to recover from this weekend. pretty wiped out. 5:30am wake up to go stand outside and freeze my ass off for a few hours followed by about 9hrs of thawing out and inhaling dust. 'twas fun, though, no doubt about that. a lot better than being stuck in this office.

Pics of new wheels or I will summon a mod for you to be banned. Oh and, you have too many zeros in your price for TacomaWorld, that's more like a CraigsList price.
