Haha if you're clever enough it can be done easy at home with simple tools. I did all 4 of mine by myself.

Oh I have done tires plenty of times without a machine sometimes they are easy sometimes they are a PITA you never know what it's going to be like until you start.

 

Ok so back to the lights...

It’s the housing. Right light works fine plugged into the left side and left light doesn’t work plugged into the right...

Next step? Coke can?

 

Unplug all the plugs and look for corrosion. If there is corrosion the best way to get rid of it without some really tiny scrapers etc. is a coke. If there is no corrosion unplug the bulb socket and just switch the bulb sockets and check just that. What we are tying to do is eliminate all the different possibilities to pin point the problem and not end up buying a bunch of extra crap you don't need.

 

I only have Vanilla Coke

 

I always have a coke on hand so IDK if that will work. Pepsi isn't as good but works also. BTW when you pour the coke on the corrosion and watch it disintegrate the nastiness just think of what it is doing in your stomach

 

Just don't fill your taillight with RC cola.

I didn’t see any corrosion by I went ahead and dumped some coke in the socket for the bulb and also the male end of the entire wire harness, which is what seemed to do the trick because it still didn’t work after I cleaned the socket by itself

Maybe it was dumb luck. Maybe it was the coke. Maybe it will stop working as soon as I drive it again.

Now for the pressure sensor. Can I just dump coke on that too?

Good. From experience the main issue with these sub harness headlights taillights etc is corrosion either in the sockets and/or the connectors. Glad it's working and just be glad you don't have a German vehicle where the subharness is somewhat of a printed circuit where the bulb sockets are built in and the circuit paths like to burn in half when to much corrosion builds up in the bulb sockets.

 

Today is not a "feel fingers" day, they're cold and functional, until I got back in the van and started warming up, now they hurt...
