Wiring is easy! What's the worst that can happen?

More seriously, if you have fuses and circuit breakers on everything then your biggest risk is popping a fuse. Not too bad. Something like a pop and lock I'd imagine the hardest part will be fishing wires through. If you need help, let me know!

 

I got my front bumper Line-X'd by North Shore Line-X in Reading. Love the look and feel, and it was a quick turn around! Very happy with it.

 

@BadDNA has Monstaliner, which I will be putting on my truck as well in the spring

 

That's a DIY bedliner? I don't know if I can trust myself to do that.

 

I have Monstaliner on my rocker panels and the upper edge of my tailgate where the door from my cap contacts. The stuff is tough as nails. The hardest part was scuffing up the paint to apply it...taking 100 grit sandpaper to my shiny truck was a real mental workout. That said, I'm glad I did it and will probably give it another pass to bring the top edge a little higher up the doors in the future and when I do, lose my mudflaps completely.

 

OMG, I don't think I could do that to a new truck. Even in the bed. I'm sure it's great stuff but I think I'll leave this to a professional.

I have one of those patches on the way and it's going on my coveralls that I wear when I'm crawling around under other folks trucks.

Power Pop N Lock is in progress. You guys "talked" me into attempting it.

Just spent the last hour putting the actuator on, and running the wire under the truck and along the frame, up to the engine compartment (like the You Tube videos I found). Can't complete it today cause I have to go get the oldest from daycare, but the "hard" part (I think) is done.

Running the wire under the truck is no joke... especially when you don't have it on a lift, has FF on it already, and your garage floor is cold and a bit wet (from driving in the rain earlier). But I think I did a half way decent job of tucking it along the frame, zip tying it every few feet, and making sure it's not hanging anywhere.

Tomorrow I'm going to attempt the last part, which is run it through the grommet, and attempting to tap into the wires I need to make it lock and unlock with the FOB.

That's what they are going to do. You have to scuff up the paint in order to get the shit to stick properly.

BTW stay away from Rhino Liner! They will spray over everything. Line-X will remove all the bolts and then spray and then replace all the bolts. If you Rhino line it and have a problem good luck getting to the bolts of your bed/tailgate etc!

Nice, keep us updated. I need to do this now that I have a cap on and want to be able to securely store my stuff back there since I live in the city.

 

Will do. Same reason why I'm glad I found the one I had bought, and decided to do it as well now more than ever. Just got the cap a few weeks ago, and it's a MUST.

 

Did that mod a couple years ago. Remember having to fiddle with it a bit to get it just right.
I am sure you'll do well with it.
