I took mine off. Plastidipped them then installed.
Then I took a note card rolled lengthwise like a ummm...cigarette.. then held them over each nut and sprayed gray dip inside.

    a change made.
    plural noun: modifications
"there will be a number of modifications to the engines"
synonyms: alteration, adjustment, change, adaptation, refinement, revision

It checks out, plati-dip is a mod.

I didn't remove my wheels before I did it. I wrapped painters tape in a circle around the lugs and then plastidipped the wheels. No issues so far.

I did my rear bumper, grille surround, wheels, and emblems. I've taken it through the drive through car wash multiple times and have no issues with it peeling off.

Did my grill surround over a year and a half ago and still looks great. I agree that Plati Dip is a mod because i removed a part/parts from my truck, prepped them, dipped (changed from stock) them and re-installed. How is that not a modification?

I plasti dipped the grill, emblems and rims of my last truck.
The grill and front emblem had to be redone several times over the years . I couldn't stand the llook of the chrome shining through all of the rock chips and tears. The rims and rest of the emblems held up decently, but added quite fast.
The stuff is great for testing a look, but for a better permanent look not a fan.
I have now gone and painted all the things on my Taco and it looks much better. There are several cars driving around town covered in plasti dip in various ways. Just looks super cheap to me.

Did you use their recommend clear coat?
For uv protection and resisting fading.
You can also buy it by the gallon and use a sprayer.
It's all about knowing how to use products.
Using anything incorrectly will have poor outcome.:notsure:

For the added costs and extra steps, I'll just do it properly, and have far better looks....

Another option is RustOleum bedliner in a spray can. I paint truck and non-truck parts with it and it’s easy. Holds up great too.

Totally agree. Did my chrome bumper two years ago. Pressure washed many times and looks like when I originally applied it. I had a guy with a tow ball back into my bumper, put a round dent in it and the dip still looks perfect.
