A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Or the nearest chain link fence you see! That's what I heard --the "grill designer" at Toyota was bored out of his mind and he had a project due (guess what that was) --so he was sittin there in deep daydream mode and happened to look out his window and saw this chain-link fence -- and WALLA! his project was complete!

It's not just the grille. The whole freaking front end doesn't look right.

Are you saying the 2018 front end doesn't look right or are you saying all 3rd gen front ends don't look right?

Man if I ever trade in my 2012 TRD Sport I'd love me some leather seats. Toyota treating me like one of it's french girls.

Fuck that grill is ugly though.

All I know is that if a dealer was smart they'd be popping these ugly things out of half their stock and replacing them with pros. I bet I know which half sells quicker, and at a higher price point.
Maybe it will look better on another color. I have a SSM colored taco, and I think that's about the only color the electric shaver grille really works on so it's possible I guess.

Ha! Yeah, when I first saw the press photos of the 2016's I thought the front end was an April fools joke. Now, I just bought a 2017 and I have come around to thinking they are the best looking gen. I am honestly shocked that I feel this way as I really thought they were hideous at first.

Yep, I pointed out a 2017 to my brother and said "who the hell would actually buy a truck that ugly no matter how far it would go?"

the front end ugliness can be mitigated a little with a 3" lift at 33" tires

anything less and all i can see is an over-boxy pig nose

Toyota is just fulfilling what it's customers want.
Q&A with Toyota Truck Chief Engineer Mike Sweers with automobilemag.com

    Mike Sweers - It's a lifestyle truck.
We see customers putting a lot of cash into their truck after they leave the dealership, to modify and personalize the truck. From the styling right down to the features, that’s reflective of what we heard from the customers. It’s what they want their truck capable of doing based upon the image of the truck for them."
The grille is just another way to personalize.
    They are helping us.
