What’s up guys. I have a 6” pro comp lift with 33s. Im going to run 35s and 1.25 spidertrax spacers. (No I don’t need you to tell me that spacers are a bad idea). But that got me thinking... I’m wondering if it’s possibe to add a body lift to it? Good or bad idea? And how high can I go? I assume 3”? And do you think I would be able to clear 37s? I’m bringing it into the shop to get 4.88 Nitro gears installed and the guy mentioned this. Just wondering your opinions. Thanks.

Well, since nobody has chimed in I will try to help. I am far from an expert, but everything I have read tends to say that a 1 inch body lift can be done without any significant issues but much more than that is generally frowned upon due to sheer stresses on them. I'm not sure if that is enough to fit 37's without rubbing.

Also, if this truck is just for street driving then a small body lift should be fine. If you are going to be doing hard wheeling or jumping your truck in high-speed desert racing then DO NOT use a body lift. Or if you do, please post pics after the pucks get hammered all the way down through the metal when you land hard, LOL.

Good luck and show us pics of your truck when you're done!

Pretty sure 1" body lift stays pretty safe, but 2-3" you start running into issues with steering shaft, shifter fitment, and various other things. Includes a hilarious gap between the body and frame too.

Also, subbed for 6" Drop Bracket plus 3" body lift.

I don't think there are any issues with a 1" lift other than the bumper not aligning up, which can be fixed. I'm thinking about doing a 1" lift to help my tires clear for 35s later down the road. They already rub with the 33's.

You suffer ride quality and Offroad capability I think. Something like that.

My truck suffer from ride quality and offroad capability. Its made it better with the lift so I don't know what you've been reading.... maybe something for your 2001? ANYWAYS getting back to the original topic.....

I don't think adding 1" body lift to my 6" lift is worth the labor. SO, is a 2"-3" possible?

Have you driven a truck with, icon, fox, king.... etc suspension setups. If not how would you know if ride quality suffers or not??

I meant suffering when compared to icons which are much higher quality than pro comp. And I don’t think that hating on a 1st gen and trying to seem superior over another person just because of your truck is going to get you very far on this forum. And to get back on topic, they have already said that a 2-3” body lift isn’t good so listen to them or make the mistake on your own...

...because I don't want 6 inches of lift. I would rather not raise my center of gravity more than I need to, to accommodate larger tires. Reduced drag coefficient and more susceptible to rollovers while crawling. Plus you don't get any additional ground clearance.
