Did you get your PO171 code figured out? Or just waiting to see if it comes back?

College fees.... lucked out this year and went to school and live at home (I dunno if that’s lucky or not actually, probably not as fun), no rent, no parking, no food, low tuition due to local scholarships and stuff. Still no money buuuuut, hopefully my winter hobby makes some for me.

Waiting. I think it was an error. I drove to work and back today with no code

You should really get a scan tool and view your fuel trims, easy way to tell if it is just going to come back and may help you pinpoint it.

Ah, sometimes stuff like that happens. If it does come back, I had a thought the other day. It might be fuel related, maybe a dirty fuel filter or weak fuel pump limiting fuel and causing it to run lean.

The fuel filter is 4 months old maybe. I doubt the pump is bad with only 60k on the truck

The other acronym caused you to miss out on my pun :p j/k

A couple guys I worked with had some seat time with that one - they were kind of on another tangent by the time I knew them...

A helping hand is always underestimated. Back during my first Cadillac Horn GB I went through almost 600-700 different GM sedans by myself and it took me two days at two different yards. I caved during this Winter GB and hired a friend to help me, man I really underestimated the power of a friend. Took us less than half the time it took by myself and he ended up having so much fun he told me he'd work for free next time. Same thing with that front differential from the 4Runner last week, no way in hell I could've gotten that thing out by myself - I would've gone crazy.

I'm still a senior in high school, still deciding where I want to go. I'll be honest the parking situation is a huge factor for me, haha. All I know is private Cali colleges want way too damn much for parking. If I'm paying more than $100k over a four year period would it kill ya to offer free parking? In this case they do it because they can.

I found this weird loophole. In California all pickup trucks regardless of axles, tonnage, or drivetrain is required to be registered as a commercial vehicle. If I wanted to park in a loading zone, I totally can and they can't technically cite me because I am classified as a commercial vehicle, right? I have a buddy who drives an old orange CalTrans truck (you can still see the faded logo on the door) and carrier a cone with him everywhere he goes. Want to park anywhere you want? Turn on the amber strobe light, throw the cone behind the tailgate, and no one will bat an eye. Urban camouflage.

I still have that goddamn P0171 code and it turns on every single time I accelerate hard. I never got P0172 so I don't know if the sensors or not. I never figured out what it was.

The truck has been shifting really really slowly lately too. Yesterday was the worse, I couldn't go faster than 40 at one point. It felt like it was stuck in 1st or 2nd gear the whole drive. Maybe it's because I didn't let it warm up first, I was late that day and just drove off once I started it.

Oof, yeah that is rough for parking. Damn, well in cali you can attach a camper shell with bolts and re-register as a SUV to bring registration and insurance costs down, but if you ever take the topper off and get caught it is a hefty fine. That reminds me too, you still have any of those horn sets?

Is it hesitating to shift from 2nd to 3rd? When the truck is still cold and not up to operating temp, the trans will hold 2nd until about 2500 rpm until things warm up.
