That's a good deal. I may have to go see what they have. The one I had went onto my father-in-law's truck.

For my daughter's truck, her box was drilled and bolted to the bed. When she no longer wanted it, I took it and used j-bolts. It didn't slide on me, but it also wasn't filled with a lot of heavy stuff. My father-in-law has it now, and he uses j-bolts without a problem as well.

Soooo.... I had a little money come my way. I have packages inbound with bits from Pelfreybilt and Smittybilt, and I see a road trip to South Carolina in my future...

Close. I'm going with the Pelfreybilt hidden winch mount up front, but an HC with swingout from SOS for the rear.

Yeah, I got some heavy crap in mine. Tools, spare parts, recovery gear, a bottle jack, wood blocks for the bottle jack, tie-downs, etc...and that was before I had a hilift jack attached to it. I'm guessing it's got well over 100lbs of crap in it, probably close to 200 with the hilift, but I've never actually weighed it all. I just know I wouldn't want to try removing it without emptying it first, haha.

Why not go All sos and not pay shipping for the pelfreybilt?

A couple of reasons. I wanted a hidden winch mount up front. The SOS Streamline was close, but the Pelfreybilt HW mount with shipping was cheaper (and lighter). Also, the Pelfreybilt is in stock, ready to ship vs an 8 week lead time. I figure that I can have the winch mounted and ready to go in short order, and the rear bumper I can just pick up whenever it's ready.

Yeah, that's a lot of weight to try to hold with just j-bolts. I didn't have that much in mine. Wood blocks for bottle jack as well, tarps, various straps and bungees, small jugs of water, coolant, and some other crap. Tools are in the cab, under my seat.

I used a piece of 2x2 angle aluminum. Drilled holes so it could mount to the bed rail system and the tool box. Much more secure than screws in the bed cap or j hooks.

If I’m able to take this vacation I’m going to be pulling my bumper and repainting it. Tired of the rust spots and shitty bed liner spray

I hoping in the near future I'll be able to remove this cross member and replace it higher up. Then I'll get a better skid plate angle.

My personal preference is the industrial Rustoleum in Semi-Gloss as well. I painted the lower forks on my old Suzuki with it and they lasted through several riding seasons with only the occasional touch up for rock chips. I've also found the Rustoleum Rust Reformer provides a really good base.

Potentially. I've always added a few coats of wax to matte surfaces as an extra precaution (Turtle Wax Ice or some other spray wax, not paste!).

Not flat. Mud and stuff will stain it. I've started using Rusto semi-gloss on all my suspension/underbody stuff. My rear axle has about 4 wheeling trips on it now and it still looks great after I wash it.
