Forget beating 4 top 25 teams, and winning the biggest opening game weekend in the history of CFB, or having only ONE loss to a top 7 team that went on to be ranked in the top 4...none of that matters....

The name of Alabama Crimson Tide Football is in fact the standard. Everyone gives them their best game, and "Wants Bama".


Shit happens after a decade of success. At this point in time, Saban and Alabama have won 40% of the National Championships in the last decade, if they happen to win this year, it will be even higher.

 

Alabama only beat 2 top 25 teams.

Wait wait, so beating a team that barely made a bowl game is now considered one of the biggest wins in the history of CFB?

 

At the time of the games Alabama beat 3 top 25 teams. And if you think FSU would have had the same record had their QB not gotten hurt well bless your heart.

 

Cant help what happens to them after Bama plays them.

They've been excellent under Saban. The fact is they just aren't as good as previous years.

I didnt realize their QB played defense too cause that sucked all season.

When they have a QB able to move the ball down the field and actually score points their D doesn't look as bad. Wild concept right, offense scores more points than the defense gives up to actually win a game?

 

Didnt say you did but just because some team was "thought" to be a really good team does not make them a really good team.

 

Auburn had Multiple QB injuries all year last year and could not move the ball, but our defense was still in the top 10.

Wild concept that if you are a "top 3 team" your defense wouldnt suck regardless. Their are tons of teams that get QB's hurt that still have a very good season. If they relied that heavily on a QB that really wasnt even that good then they were not even close to a top 3 team, which is exactly what I said.

 

Well, they "thought" enough of them to rank them #3 in the nation. Can you honestly say you personally disagreed with FSU being ranked #3 to start the season?

HAHAHA! If you don't think AU struggled with Mercer, you are delusional. Every barner friend I have was worried about how that game was going to play out.

 

Not delusional. I can specifically remember getting alerts on my phone about Mercer hanging with Auburn. Halftime adjustments made by Auburn were effective, but the scoreboard doesn't tell the story of how close that game really was.

 

510 total yards to 246 seems like a very close game

Auburn the bed and had 5 giveaways, but if you actually watched the game Auburn did whatever they wanted with them they just fumbled it 4 times. That had nothing to do with Mercer "almost" beating us.
