Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
This is just like anything you do. Don't put money in that you aren't willing to lose. If you have only $500 to your name, don't buy in. It isn't worth the risk of losing all of it.

The marginal gain of the two is the same, less the transaction fees, so it really only matters how much you value the liquidity of the $5 you pocketed.

Fascinating thread. It's interesting to see all the people getting involved with this and how it is working out. I haven't dipped my toe in the water, yet, but might have to give it a go.

Awesome! Definitely follow what @Haslefre said. Check out the OP if you haven't yet and definitely do your research on what to invest it. I recommend setting up a Coinbase or GDAX which is where you would purchase one of the big three coins (BTC, ETH, LTC).

I have a referral link for Coinbase but not GDAX, coinbase is a little more user friendly. Check em both out and get set up (you don't need to link anything right away)

Not sure with the LTC and ETHER runs recently what to say about them and when to invest hard to say what the new floor will be? I would wait to buy them for now price is high buy when it's low.. AS for BTC wait until it drops under 15k then buy..I don't know much about the charts or study the predictions. But personally, i think they will all fork sometime in the next 13-15 days then some nice runs for the new year..

Thought and wondered the same. As long as it's under $9,999 PER transaction going into your account you should have no worries..I would verify with accountant to be 100% mine is old school if i mentioned crypto currency i'd have to much explaining to do

Man I hope Gemini is supporting all these forks. Hopefully I’m not losing out on free money.

I hope the same, BCX is a really cheap one at $0.00035 USD. Hope it is one that grows since I got 145 of em lol

SBTC is actually good but you only receive the 1*BTC. SBTC is around $260 USD

Don't report anything until you deposit $10000 or more into your CHECKING account. Coinbase was recently forced to disclose to the IRS all those people that were handling transactions just on the exchange for $20,000 or greater from 2013-2015. Just FYI.

Ive been reading this thread since it started. Already have a Coinbase and GDAX account, I guess I'm just nervous about putting hard earned money into something so volatile right now.

This is true, it is very volatile. However, I am not convinced that it will just plummet as people are saying. I am currently at a 60% ROI and have only been investing for 1 week exactly.

Lol! Those are the new coins that have forked off from BTC recently, remember this video

Very basic explination (in my own words and not enough coffee yet) (numbers are made up)

    -Market Order
-You buy or sell however many you want for what you put in. If two people submitted at the same time for say $100, one person might get 1 of X while the other gets .95 of X as that is how the orders could be filled.

    -Limits
-Buying basically the price point at which you want to buy. If you set it to $80 then when it hits $80 (or less) you buy in. You could get for less. But also no guarantee you will buy all of your order
    - Selling basically the opposite. You set it to what to sell at. If you set it to $90 you would start selling at 90. It COULD sell higher. Also no promise youll sell all your order

    -Stop Orders
-Buying, sort of like a limit but its more like a "trigger" to buy. If you wanted say 3 of X at $80, when the market hits $80 the order would trigger. BUT instead of only buying at 80 or less , it will keep buying till you have all 3 of X. So you might end up buying 1 at 80, 1 at 81, and 1 at 85 to fill your order.

    - Selling basically the opposite of buying. Except in this case the fear would be the market would gain in value. So you originally wanted to sell 3 of X at 80 but you end up filling your order by selling 1 at 80, 1 at 81, and 1 at 85

    -Stop-Limit Orders
Bit of the best of both
-Buying you set both. So your "Stop" might be 3 of X at $80. With a Limit set at $82. So once it hits $80 you will start buying. But If you cant buy all three before it exceeds $82 it will stop buying. So you could end up with just the 1 at $80 and 1 at $81 and a not totally filled order.

-Selling is pretty much the opposite again. You set your trigger (stop) and the max you will sell at (limit). So it could trigger to sell at $90 with a limit of $88. Again though you might not sell all your shares.

Hope that makes sense and that I actually explained it right in my sleepy state lol
